It was early in the morning. The air was cool and relaxing. Raven would always wake up early around 6 30 every day to meditate on the rooftop of Titans' tower. But in this case, she decided to go to the garden to meditate.
Damian used to tell her about the times he would train in the garden and him "trimming" the beautifully trimmed hedges. It was hilarious how the gardener would come every month just to see the whole garden diced up in pieces.
After an hour and a half of meditating, a familiar voice called out to her.
"I thought I'd find you here," said the teenager. "How are you feeling?"
Raven opened her eyes to see Damian squatting down beside her. He looked sweaty like he had been training. It was his daily routine too.
"Good morning, Damian," Raven greeted lovingly. "I guess you were training?"
"Yeah, I was just working out. But I do need a sparring partner," He said smirking."Since everybody else is still sleeping. I hoped you would accompany me."
Raven stood up and brushed herself off before accepting his request unhesitantly. Damian brought her to the training room and gave her the staff Nightwing used to use. Raven had been taking lessons from Kori since last year so it would be a great time for her to train a bit.
"I won't go easy on you," Raven said smirking.
"Oh really?"Damian teased back.
Raven was the one who made the first move, charging at him with the staff. Damian easily dodges the attack and shifted to Raven's left side. What he thought was an opening turned into a hit when Raven quickly deflected Damian's katana and kicked his side. It made him tumble a bit. Raven charged back in swinging the staff towards his legs. Damian was agile and jump up to avoid the staff. He swung his katana at her but was quickly deflected again.
He continuously swung his katana at her but was blocked every time. Raven cleverly aimed for Damian's right hand with made him lose his grip on the katana. Raven side kicked the katana away from him. She held the staff near his throat signing to him what she had won. Damian was shocked that Raven could get the better of him.
"Finish him!" Her face contorted to her four-eye demon self but it wasn't her voice that came out. It was Trigons'. Damian lept out of the way to grab his katana, standing in his defensive stance.
It took her a while but she was able to take control of herself again. Her headache and it hurt, a lot. She tumbled down but luckily Damian was there to catch her. She was sweating and panting.
"Raven! Are you okay?!" Damian panicked. He brushed the hair out of Raven's face and wiped her sweat. After a few minutes, she gained consciences again but was too weak. He picked her up bridal style and headed to her room. He gently laid her down and wiped more of her sweat off.
He filled a small basin with warm water and wiped her forehead to cool her down.
"It was my father," Raven said. Damian just sat there listening. "If he has to power to possess me, it means he is winning. I fear I would not have the strength left to keep him in."
"Don't say that you-"
Just then a knock on the door caught their attention. Damian walked to the door and opened it just to see Alfred with a trey of tea.
"This is the earl grey tea you requested, Master Damian," Alfred said setting down the tray on the table.
"Thank you, Alfred," Damian said.
Alfred let himself out leaving Damian to pour the tea himself. "I thought you'd like some, "he said giving the cup to Raven.
"Thank you, "Raven said with a warm smile.
"I know you're worried but you are the strongest person I've ever met and we will find a way to destroy him for good," he said holding her hand.
"I'm a girl lucky, you know that?" Raven said pulling Damian into a kiss. Damian gave her the "I know" look and kissed her back passionately.
