Chapter XXX

(Flashback)

"Welcome back!" as they told Chae.

"Ha?! What is that for?" she asks innocently.

Her friends just laugh at her being naive.

"What made you join us here today?" Jennie asks.

So she gets what they meant and laughs at them loudly.

On the other hand, ill-tempered Jungkook whispers."You like him, ha?!"

He didn't wait for her answer instead he left then followed by others.

"Chae what did you to Jk?" Jisoo's query.

"He's acting strange and always likes to talk to himself if you are around." she added.

Clueless she is, she can't answer them back.

"But tell us what is the real score between you and Jaehyun?" Lisa said excitedly.

"You know where my heart belongs to." she speaks downhearted.

And added" I am happy of what relationship I have with Jaehyun and that is to be his friend."

"Are you sure?" in doubt they asked.

Next day.

Jaehyun runs to Chae and calls her.

"Chae I've been calling you."

"Oh! I did not check my phone yet" teary eye she answered.

Jaehyun in dismay said."What is wrong?"

Chae just brushed off those tears and smile at him.

Even she didn't speak up Jaehyun knew what happened.

He saw her in the midst where her best friend, Jungkook and his hyungs were talking.

Though he is bothered, he didn't ask her anymore and instead he stays by her side.

Jaehyun became Chae's comfort zone.

One day.

"Hi! Have you seen Jaehyun?" as Chae asked Jaehyun's friends.

"Why? Didn't he tell you?" Mark answered.

Hence, Mark is nudged by Jackson.

Then all of them just look on each other.

Days passed when Jaehyun decided to go to Chae's house.

"What are you doing here?" irritated she told him.

Downcasted he asked her."Can you walk with me please?"

Without an answer Chae started to walk in which Jaehyun got suprised.

He quickly walk towards her.

"Sorry I didn't tell you that I will not show up in school." as he placed his hands inside his pocket.

Chaeyoung keeps her mouth shut.

But he smiled and said "You want ice cream?"

She nods and they bought ice cream.

They went to a park where they are seated under a tree.

"Do you still like him?" it aches him but that is the question he wanted an answer.

Chae's face became gloomy and cried like a baby.

"Jae" she said.

He hugged her dearly but he did not notice that tears also flowing from his face.

The day ended where Jaehyun wasn't able to confess his feelings for her and didn't say goodbye.

"Chae, thank you for your time." as he brushed her hair.

"No Jae, thank you." she smiles.

Then she added."I am happy to see you." and gave him a hug.

"I will call later, Okay?" Then he waited for her to go inside the house.

He stayed for awhile to relish the memory he had with Chae.

Later that night, Chae receives a call from Jaehyun.

"Hello" Jaehyun speaks over the phone with a bit shaky voice.

"Hi Jae. Are you okay?" she asked.

Jae clears his throat while holding his tears.

"I won't be able to see you again Chae.
There's a family emergency and I need to go."

"Wait! What do you mean?" frightened and panick occurs as she hears the sound of a plane.

"Chae, it's okay you don't need to go." as he laughs at her.

"Why didn't you tell me?" as tears stream from her face.

"For the reason I don't want to cause of your cry."

"Chae, I promise I will come back for you again." but the call ended.

He feels disappointed that he wasn't able to fully talk to her.

But he has no choice and instead he boarded the plane without him having a disclosure with her.

"Shoot! Why this time you get low bat!" startled to look for her charger.

She tried to reach from him again but he's no longer answering his phone.

...

"Chae why do you look sad?" her friends worriedly ask.

But she did not answer them back instead she stare blankly at her food.

In dismay, Jungkook pats her head.

"Hyung, she changed." as Jungkook speaks in sadness.

Yoongi remind him and said." Didn't I told you to do something before it's too late."

"Yes I am already late because I saw them in a park."

"Aren't you just being malicious?" Hoseok butt in.

"I don't think so." he convinced himself.

For this reason, his hyungs try to cheer him up and help him to change his perspective.

However, Jungkook has no words to speak anymore as he thought that Chae's heart belongs to another man.
