BELLA CALLED HER after spencer got home from the beach and told her about the cullens possibly being vampires. spencer thought it was ridiculous but considering how edward literally left a dent in tylers van a couple weeks ago, and had sped over from across the lot, she thought it wasn't completely impossible at this point.

spencer sat in bed listening to bella explain everything and how she wanted to go to a book store in port angeles, there was a certain book on the  legends she could buy. she asked spencer if she wanted to come with and she said yes, desperately needing to get out of the small town for a little bit.

she felt that things were overwhelming here, and she needed a break for a day or so. all of this was confusing her, bella and edward, the way jasper was acting, like he couldn't decide if he wanted to associate with spencer or not, as if there was anything bad about the both of them.

she thought over the possibility of the cullen-hale family being vampires. she knew if they wanted to kill her or anyone else then they would have already. were they really so dangerous if they could function in society? their father was a doctor who dealt with blood all the time, surely they weren't too dangerous.

so why was jasper playing games? she'd been here for weeks, and he kept switching up on her. maybe he was afraid of her finding out their secret. which really wasn't such a secret once you had an idea about it. the pale skin, being impossibly fast and ice cold, with old names and a vocabulary that didn't belong in modern times.

her thoughts wandered as she fell back on her bed. spencer thought it was possible they were vampires. her thoughts circled around jasper, and she fell asleep thinking about him. that was the first night she dreamt of the boy, with sharp fangs but so so charming, luring her in, fingers interlaced in a vice grip with hers.

it was sunny for once in forks and spencer was excited. though she still donned a pair of jeans, she put on a comfy short sleeve shirt and left her jacket at home. her bag was her only carry on item and she felt so light and happy, but when she got to school, she wasn't so enthusiastic. the cullens weren't there.

her mood dropped as she walked over to where jessica and bella sat on wodden picnic tables. she sat her bag down and plopped beside bella, tan skin warming up under the sunlight. she decided she'd make the most of today.

"apparently they don't come when its sunny. their parents yank them out for hiking and stuff." bella explained. she knew bella was having a hard time with edward, he was being just as stubborn as his adoptive brother.

"guys!" angela came bounding over, a smile on her face. "i asked eric to prom, i took control! he said yes."

"we told you that would happen!" spencer hugged the girl, happy that eric would probably be off her ass for a while.

"are you sure you can't go to the prom?" angela asked bella, a pleading look in her eyes. bella explained that she had a teip that weekend and angela commented on getting dresses in port angeles. that made spencer turn to bella. the book!

"are you going to prom, spence?" jessica asked.

"only if i get asked. i might as well buy a dress though. if you guys go, can i come with? i'll get a dress just in case." spencer said, telling the truth. she wanted a dress anyways, a formal one. it couldn't hurt to have nice clothes.

the day went by in an underwhelming blur up until she got ready to go get dresses for prom. her mom wasn't home, yet again, so she left her a note just in case she was out too late.

the girls ended up in a small dress shop, jessica and angela both had tried many dresses on but spencer had already made her pick. it was a flowy, floor length, baby blue dress with off the shoulder, sheer sleeves that were a bit puffy, there was a slit up the leg, and jewels lined across the top of the dress, with a matching belt around the waist.
