Only later did Tenya find out that he, in fact, did not win.

Turned out that Peri took a page from Midoriya's book, and had grabbed Tenya's outstretched arms, pivoted, and flung him out of bounds. Because he had been charging Peri using his quirk, he basically rocketed himself into the gym wall.

Midoriya explained all of this while in Recovery Girl's office, making sure that Tenya didn't have a concussion. Which he didn't. She still insisted that Midoriya keep an eye on Tenya for the next twenty four hours, just to watch for other symptoms. The boys were dismissed, and they thanked Recovery Girl for her help.

They hung out in Tenya's room, doing homework so that they could relax the rest of the weekend. The later it got, the more Tenya worried and wanted to tell his best friend about his feelings toward Peri. He mustered up the courage, and broke the news while Midoriya packed up his books. "Midoriya, I need your advice," Tenya blurted, bowing his head to hide the blush creeping across his cheeks and down his neck.

Midoriya froze, his hand halfway in his backpack. "My advice? I'll try my best, Iida! What about?"

Tenya swallowed and said, "I need... girl advice."

"What? Iida! That's amazing!" Midoriya said, grinning from ear to ear, "I don't have much experience, or any experience, really, but I'll help however I can! Can I ask who it is?"

"Experience isn't the important part, Midoriya. You're my best friend, and the burden of living with these perplexing feelings was destroying me... I needed a confidant," Tenya explained. Midoriya was quiet, but still smiling and excited, waiting for Tenya to say who. Sighing, Tenya ran a hand through his hair, and mumbled, "It's Peri."

Midoriya shrieked and did a tiny happy dance. "I was hoping you were going to say that! Iida, this is great! You two are really close!"

"Yes, but I don't think she reciprocates my feelings, Midoriya, and that drives me crazy," Tenya said, taking off his glasses to rub his eyes. "She kept winking and smiling at me during the match today, and it was messing with my brain. I couldn't focus, and I haven't been able to since she got here. Sometimes it makes me even, dare I say, miss Aoyama."

"Are you going to tell her?" Midoriya said, zipping up his backpack and slinging it over his shoulder. "Do you want me to ask her if she likes anyone?"

"No! I mean, I want to tell her, maybe someday? But please don't ask her that... I would surely combust if I found out she liked someone else in class," Tenya groaned, flopping backwards onto his mattress. "Thank you for offering, though, Midoriya. And thank you for listening. I feel a lot better."

"Of course, Iida! And text me if you need any more help, okay?" Midoriya smiled and left, heading back to his room to go to bed.

Tenya was, of course, not tired. He glanced at his phone. A little after midnight. He had a lot of energy, but was unsure of what to do with it. After some thinking and staring at his ceiling, he decided to get dressed for a run at the UA track, hoping it would clear his mind or that the running gods would bestow some wisdom upon him. Dressed in navy sweats, a gray UA sweatshirt, and his running sneakers, he jogged down the stairs to the common room, and was nearly out the front door when he heard it.

Singing.

He turned, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, and listened closer. The song was unfamiliar to him, but that didn't surprise him. Tenya smelled warm sugar in the air, and it clicked. Peri was awake. He crossed through the dining hall and stopped short of the kitchen, peering in around the door frame.

She had her hair up in a messy bun, flour smeared across one of her cheeks and dabbed on the tip of her nose. Huge black headphones covered her ears, and she was singing along to whatever she was listening to, but it was muffled by a green force field thrown up around her. Peri turned and took a pan of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven, and slid another sheet of them in, all while dancing to her music.
