'You're....you're pregnant?'
'Yes...yes baby.' Yue talks in a timid voice, unable to read He Di. 'We are finally giving Zian that sibling we always talked about. You...you get to see me with a big round belly....like you've always wanted. Are you happy with the news?
He Di realizes that he has been frozen, with a frown of his face. He softens his features when he sees the alarmed expression on Yue's face. A roller coaster of emotions are tumbling around inside him. All he has ever wanted to hear, is that they are expecting another child. He has dreamt of this day for years, and now finally its here. And it should be the happiest of day of his life, but he can't stop thinking about that text. Could it be some mistake? Meant for someone else? But the person mentioned Yue's name in it. The person knew that she left her phone in the office. How would they know that?
'He Di, do...do you not ww...want another baby with me?'
Yue stutters, on the verge of tears. What is wrong with her husband?
'What? Why would you say that?' He responds, coming out of his trance.
'It's just, you seem weird...I don't know what's going on with you tonight?'
'Nothing, nothing's going on with me, I'm just tired.'
'Oh...well then I better let you get some sleep. Goodnight.'
Her voice breaks at the end, she quickly covers her head with the blankets, and starts crying quietly. He Di feels pain slice through his heart as he listens to her sobs. He is immediately filled with regret, and he quickly runs to the bed. He crawls onto it and uncovers Yue's head, hugging her.
'Yue, I'm so sorry, please don't cry.' He kisses her wet cheeks.
'I don't understand what's going on?' She cries.
'I'm sorry. Its wonderful news that you are pregnant.' He says in a tender voice.
'Are you sure? I thought you would be over the moon, but...'
'I am. I...am.'
'Something's wrong He Di. There's something you are not telling me?'
He Di looks her in the eye and they stare at each other, both frightened of what's going on between them.
'Yue, are you....happy with me?' His tone is almost pleading.
'What? Where is this coming from?'
'Please baby, you would tell me if I was doing something wrong wouldn't you?'
'Of...of course. Why?'
'Promise me you won't leave me?'
'Why would I leave you He Di?'
'I swear I can make you happy again.' He is crying now.
