'We hardly ever see you anymore, now that you are behaving like an old married couple with Yue.' Says Kido.
'Yeah I feel like it's been what... two months since we all had a boys night out?, Adds Xi Zi.
'Guys you have to remember that He Di is a father now.' Says Xi Ze.
'Well you are no better. You don't have a kid, but you are always going off to watch plays with Jia...and we live in the same house. At least He Di's excuse is that he now lives on the other side of Campus.' Retorts Xi Zi.
'Hey, sorry guys, I know it sucks not hanging out as much as we used to, I just gotta make up for lost time with my kid you know, and Yue, well Yue is my love.... I don't like it when we are apart for too long. We already missed out on 6 years so....'
'Yeah okay, okay we get it.' Interrupts Kido. 'The important thing is, it's the four of us altogether again! So let's have a good time tonight.' He lifts up his beer. 'Ganbei!'
The others follow suit. 'Ganbei!!!'
'Do you think this place will pick up tonight?' says Xi Zi, looking around. 'Where are all the cute girls at?'
'Yeah, too many dudes out tonight.' Sighs Kido, also scanning the joint. 'It will be competition, plus it doesnt help that the girls are alway checking you two out, the ones with the girlfriends. Go figure.'
'Ey, I thought you were hitting it off with Zi Wei?' Asks He Di. 'What happened with that?'
'I know we like each other. Whenever I see her we get along great, but I feel like she's keeping me at arm's length. She always has rehearsals, which I get, she's very focused on the school part, which doesn't gives us the alone time I would like with her. I pay a lot of attention to her, but I'm trying a different tack now. I'm ignoring her this week. See if she misses me. If that doesn't work, I will ask one of her class mates out, in front of her.'
He Di almost chokes on his beer, as he laughs.
'Dude it sounds like you are just playing a lot of games. Have you told her you want to be her boyfriend?'
'No.'
'Why don't you just be real with her?'
'Well how did you get Yue to date you, way back then?' asks Kido. 'Where you just real with her from the beginning?'
Xi Ze laughs.
'Oh yeah tell him the story He Di, this is so good. I remember Yue telling Jia some time back.'
He Di glares at Xi Ze, then turns red, as he recalls what happened.
'I... asked out another girl from school in front of her, and took this girl on the same date, that I knew some guy had asked Yue out on...' He says rather quickly.
