Moving from Long Island is almost unheard of. You always hear about people moving there from the city to get away from the hustle and to the beaches. You hear about the celebrity mansions out in the Hamptons with their designer boutiques and rip off boho attire. Yet somehow, you almost never hear about people moving off of the island.
Moving off of Long Island wasn't the original plan but for some odd unexplainable reason she knew that the universe did not want her there. The universe didn't talk to her per-say because that would just be crazy. However, Asteria had an intuition that she was not meant to be on Long Island any longer. She knew that there was more for her in the future if she moved off the island as narcissistic as it may sound.
Without so much more than a goodbye to her few childhood friends and family, Asteria took her belongings and hit the road. This road trip was short lived when her car broke down as she drove through Belleville NJ, leaving us right where the story picks up.
