Soft giggles filled the abandon streets, small taps were heard as she skipped over the pavement. Some could still catch a quick glimpse of her white coat flickering past the windows.
“Marioline, wait for me!” The young blonde halted upon hearing someone scream her name. Twisting on her heals, she turned around, lips tugged up in a smile. “Then hurry up Sophia!” She called back, tugging onto the white coat.
There was a small click of the door, then the wood opened and a black haired girl slipped out of the house. She carefully closed the old oaken door behind her again before turning to the blonde.
“Hey there.” She began with a slight grin, stepping towards Marioline. Her nightshade hair shimmered in the moonlight. Ah that beautiful hair that even put the darkness of the night to shame. Marioline was jealous of Sophia’s black and glossy hair. Her blonde hair was plain and looked like dry old grass. A mess which she couldn’t get shiny like gold no matter how often she brushed and washed it.
“So… where are we going tonight?” This time Sophia’s voice was no louder than a whisper –a hesitant and careful one- Marioline simply grinned at this, leaning closer to her dear friend as she spoke.
“The forest.”
Marioline’s bright blue eyes shimmered with ominous anticipation.
