“You know the stories Marioline?” Sophia’s eyes darted from left to right in a nervous manner as she spoke. The shadows of the forest surrounded them and crouched forwards. Soon its darkness would consume both of them if they did not hurry and leave.

“Hmmm… What stories?” Marioline tilted her head to the side while watching her friend. She did not seem afraid nor scared of the forest. Her mother had taught her to always stay on the path and then nothing would happen to you.

“Well… about the wolf… You never heard of the letter this person sent?” Sophia’s voice was slightly quivering, indicating her fear about this subject. Yet out of concern for her friend who did not seem to know anything of this yet, Sophia felt responsible to explain.

“What was in the letter?” Was it Sophia’s imagination, or did Marioline even sound eager to listen to this story instead of afraid. Deciding to ignore that, Sophia stared to her friend, clothed in the white riding hood.

“Some warning written in blood: Be warned, my dear friends or you will die. I eat the flesh and the bones of those that lie. The naïve and unbelievers that won’t follow the path will fear my wrath. Yours truly, the Wolf”

Sophia shivered at the end, gulping slightly. “Some sort of occult poem you know. Really creepy.” Marioline just scoffed amused at it all, she was still not frightened of the dark forest, not even cautious of her surroundings.

“Oh don’t worry. I’m sure it’s just some stupid joke.”

“But… it was written with real blood.”

Marioline shrugged softly, still not bothered with it. “Maybe he poked a needle in his finger or something else and used his own blood.”

“This isn’t a matter to laugh at Marioline, I’m sure that if he would hear you, he’d get upset. Maybe we should just leave and come back during the morning when the huntsman is around…”

The blonde rolled with her eyes, pouting over to her friend, some anger almost visible in her eyes. “I don’t think the wolf is around, we’re the only ones in the forest. Besides I came here to pick flowers today! Tomorrow I’m going to my grandmother again. After all  I have no time to see the Huntsman… unlike you.”

That said she turned around and skipped further. She saw some red roses through the darkness next to the path. Her friend quickly moved along, deciding to just help Marioline so they could leave.
