One week had passed since the terrible incident. Marioline sat on a bench outside her house. Eyes rested on the fabric of her once so beautiful white cape. After the horrible murder of Sophia, it pure white had faded into a light pink pigment.

“Are you alright Marioline, you look pale.”

A soft voice next to her. She allowed her blue hues to flicker up, meeting his brown eyes.

“I’m…”

She hesitated for a moment.

“I’m fine…”

The man sighed and sat down next to her. He was only 16 years old but already the huntsmen of their village since his father died last year. After what had happened to Sophia, this young man had promised to hunt this wolf down and kill him as fast as he could.

“You don’ sound like you’re fine.”

Pointing this out, the huntsmen gave her a meek smile. He looked tired, eyes dark, face losing its color and voice hoarse. She guessed he hadn’t slept a lot either after what had happened. She couldn’t blame him though.

“Listen… We all regret what happened to her, you know that.”

He tried to cheer the girl up, letting her know she could talk about this if she felt upset, scared or sad. To suppress your emotions was something terrible to do, it could make you go insane after a while.

“But you probably miss her the most, not…”

Her voice sounded pained and even a bit angry. The huntsman blinked at this, unsure how to react at first.

“How you me-“

She did not let him end his sentence.

“I saw you kiss her.”

The blonde girl tried her best to hide her jealousy.
