Maya looks in front of her where she sees nothing but an box.
She knew that deciding to be home alone wouldn't mean anything good but she also needed some time on her own.
She exhaled as she pulled the box closer seeing a picture of her and her father when she was just older than a year.

"You are going to get depressed if you keep on going back to the past," Riley said as she climbed through the window.
"I already am," Maya said.
"Maya, stop doing this to yourself. This is just like with Josh. Somewhere youy are going to bump your head really hard," Riley said and Maya looked at her.
"Josh brought me here. He is actually being really nice. I don't think he is being bratty or that he is being like he used to be. He's actually being way nicer than I deserve," Maya said.
"What do you deserve? Maybe that is what you should be asking yourself," Riley said causing her best friend to look at her while she went out of the window.

Maya exhale as she put the box back under her bed while she put a few minutes to think about what Riley had truly had said.
Maybe it wasn't that bad luck like she thought.
Maybe it was just she being unrealistic about her circumstances.
She should go back to a time where she actually felt like nothing was impossible.

Months earlier
December, 28th.
The day after Girl Meets Games Night.

Maya smiles as she looks at how people were walking past all of the places.
Of course she knew that she didn't want to go back to her place but she didn't have much of a choice.
She hears footsteps and saw as Josh came in the picture.

"What you doing here, Boing?" Maya asked causing Josh to look behind him.
"Following me or something, Hart?" Josh asked as he sat down next to Maya.
"I basically live half an mile from this park. What is your excuse?"
"Troublemakers like my cousins. How do you keep up with Riley?" Josh asked as Maya hears a man playing guitar.
"Sometimes I wonder if these people ever earn money," Josh said and Maya smiled as she went to sit down next to the man.

"Hey, Uncle Bob," Maya said.
"Hey, Maya. People are slow," Bob said.
"Let's try to get you somewhere," Maya said as she stood up giving Josh a smile before the man started to play.

As she continued to sing people walked past throwing money into the guitar case and even Josh was surprised when the young girl started to sing.

"For a girl out on the beach
The sun seemed so out of reach
An oh so distant brilliant star
Through the years as that child grew
That's the way she thought of you
As one to worship from afar
But life's a rocket and here we are
Standing on a star
And the view is astounding
Pounding of my heart
Is everything I've ever dreamed of
I know heaven isn't only for
The sweet life after death
When I look at you
Gotta Catch My Breath
For the girl that hoped she would
But was never sure he she could
You know that love was worth the fight
And after such an uphill climb
What I'd give to turn off time
And live forever in your sight
But life's a rocket so for tonight
I'm standing on a star
And the view is astounding
Right here where we are
Is everything I've ever dreamed of
I know heaven isn't only for
The sweet life after death
When I look at you
Gotta Catch My Breath
Rock the night, burn it bright
Like a comet in the darkness
Don't you see?
Tonight belongs to you and me
We're standing on a star
And the view is astounding
Right here where we are
Is everything I've ever dreamed of
I know heaven isn't only for
The sweet life after death
When I look at you
Gotta Catch My Breath
Right here where we are
Is everything I've ever dreamed of
I know heaven isn't only for
The sweet life after death
When I look at you
Gotta Catch My Breath
When I look at you
Gotta Catch My Breath."

"How are things at home?"
"They're okay. See you," Maya said as she sat down next to Josh.

"You are clearly not scared to show your talent. That was good. Perhaps you could become a singer or something," Josh said as Maya smiled.
"Thanks."

Back to the present.

Maya smiles as she got herself out of the backflash immediately seeing she was not that bad off.
If she was able to she will be okay.
She just had to figure out where she wants her life to go.
