We continued to stare at one another, not really sure what was happening. I splayed my hands on his chest again. Feeling the heat course through me. I felt my eyes flutter shut.
"Your not going to shove me off the couch again are you" Jeff murmured and chuckled softly.
Laughing softly "No, I'm trying to figure out why it feels so nice to be next to you" I bit my bottom lip from my confession. But I couldn't help it. The words came out before I had a chance to stop them. I felt Jeff tense for a moment. I couldn't bear to look in his eyes. I felt him relax after that thought and felt his arm tighten around my waist slightly.
"Do you realize that you feel like a frozen tundra to me?" He asked quietly. I shook my head. "You don't realize how relaxing it is, I never noticed how warm I was till I felt your skin. I'm seriously questioning if you're going to melt away" He finished with an awkward chuckle.
I stayed quiet for a moment thinking about what he said. I relax him? How is that even possible.
He began to speak again "I..I mean, I've always known that I was warmer than most creepypastas but, compared to you..I, I feel like your going to turn into a puddle of mush" He joked.
I kept my head tucked away in the pillow not letting him see the blush rise to my cheeks. It was quiet for a while and soon enough I felt my brain drifting to sleep.
"Uh uh, no you can't sleep yet. Your're still human...somewhat. You need to eat something" He said loudly in my ear beginning to stand up. I didn't move from the couch, trying to get use to the sudden coldness. I looked up at him not wanting to move, I really wasn't that hungry.
"No, you need to eat. Quit trying to use puppy dog eyes on me, it doesn't work" Jeff said fast, turning away from me.
"I wasn't giving you puppy dog eyes. I just don't want to move" I whined quietly. It was true, I really just wanted to sleep more.
Jeff crossed his arms waiting for me to get up. I groaned loudly "FINE" I walked passed him, my arm brushed slightly against his by accident, well, I'm pretty sure it was an accident.
"I'm gonna use the bathroom real fast, you, go find me food so I can go back to sleep" I mumbled getting close to the bathroom, not bothering to look back at him. I hear him grumble an 'Okay' before I shut the door behind me.
Walking back into the kitchen, I still see Jeff looking for food. I cross my arms standing behind him with a smirk playing on my lips. "What? You were unprepared to keep a hostage in your house?" I watched him spin around fast to glare at me.
"Your not a hostage and you know it" He tossed a Coke can toward me and I caught it thankfully and he handed me a bag of chips as he walked by.
"Wow, very healthy breakfast this morning" Sarcastically saying as I trotted behind him.
"It's 2pm Harper, I wouldn't call it breakfast, and it's the best I could do. I don't usually keep much food in the house" He glanced back at me.
I hadn't realized how late it was.
We sat on the couch together while he watched the news and I finished off the chips and the Coke pretty quickly, not realizing how hungry I really was until I had started to munch on the food.
Once again I found myself curling up in the couch slowly falling asleep. Jeff sat quietly next to me, listening intently to the news. They were talking about some serial killer, I wondered if it was Jeff they were talking about.
"I'm not gonna end up like you, ya know" Commenting quietly while my eyes closed.
"Trust me, you will. The faster you accept that fact, the easier it will be" He retorted.
