Wrong Turn

Chapter 1-Green Eyes

Great. Being late wasn't enough that I had to forget my pass. "Way to go B, now I'll be stuck with these idiots for the rest of the trip" Faye muttered. "It's not my fault you kept me up till 3am, just because your too chicken to watch Anna Bell! " I retorted. I watch as Faye's lips form a smirk while she continues to look outside the bus window.

I was actually looking forward for this trip, I had done overtime at the dinner just to save up and now here I am stuck. Maybe if I can talk to Mr Gordon, he will let me go through, I'm his favourite student after all, OK well I'm every teachers pet, being the smartest has its perk. "Do you think Gordon will buy my excuse?" one look at Faye and I knew I was screwed. There has to be a way, "why don't you try asking one of boys for an exchange, it's not like they want to be on the trip" Faye shrugs. I give her a toothy smile "has anyone ever told you, you're a genius."

Faye and I have been besties since we were in nappies, we practically grew up together being neighbours. Truth to be told Faye is my only friend, ever since we were kids mostly because I hated socialising, what's the point of knowing people when they are temporary but Faye has other thoughts she knew every one and every gossip. Her social life was my personal TV drama. If there was one thing we had in common we both had zero tolerance for relationship. Well Faye had casual hook ups but I never stepped my foot out of the house unless it was school or work.

"it's one of the things you love about me," we both burst into laughter at her cheesy comment. Faye's idea was good, except for a handful of boys, none of guys has an interest in the trip, I still don't understand why they decided to show up. "Would you mind asking, cause I don't even know any one", Faye releases a sign while scanning the whole bus for the perfect prey. "Aidan is practically dozing off in the corner, got the perfect bait for you honeybee"

I nervously glance outside the window, while Faye is fully concentrated on a text. "Oh come on!", I turn my head towards the voice, looking at the glare shared between Faye and the Aidan guy she identified earlier, I knew there's no hope.

"Did he ask for n-" I was cut off by Mrs Sherly's voice "Students we have reached our destination, please gather your belongings along with your pass and move". Faye locks her arm around mine giving it a slight squeeze. "Follow me, you can hide in the crowd and act natural". Well here goes nothing. We were just three students behind from where Mrs Sherly was collecting the pass. I tried to hide between Faye and the guy behind me. Since Faye is couple of inches taller than me, and the guy behind me is, well muscular is the word for him, I didn't have a issue but as we got closer, my palms started getting sweaty from the nervousness. I knew it, this plan won't work, nothing can stop my fate. I'M DOOMED.

Just as Faye hands her pass to Mrs Sherly, A loud scream gets her attention. I snap my head towards the scream and see that a circular crowd is formed few meters away from us.
Faye tugs the end of my top and drags me towards the crowd, "what's goin' on?"

"Honeybee, let's just say I'm the best best friend you can ever have" I stare dumbfounded as Faye gives me a playful wink.

As we reach the crowd, I'm able to see brown hair and few features of the guy on the ground. Faye is able to push couple of people out of the way so we can get a clear view, which earns her few glares from some students. When we reach to the front I can see the guy from the bus earlier, who has a blonde girl sitting on this side. "Is that Aiden?"  Faye grins. "Is everything fine here?" Mr Gordon asks Aiden. "I think I sprained my ankle"Aiden pouts while touching his left ankle, "Ouch, can I get a ice pack or some help please" Aiden tries to say in the most dramatic way possible but it's clear that's it fake. "oh, my poor baby, we should get him to the hospital" I hear the blonde say. Is she blind, I mean the guy's acting skills are pathetic. Gordon narrows his eyes, clearly he can see through the facade, "alright" he points at two blonde boys,who start helping Aiden to stand up and carry him towards the building.

"How'd you like my plan" Faye wiggles her eyebrows at me. Wait so, now everything makes sense, Aiden faked the sprain to create a distraction for me to sneak in. "Omg! You're the best" I squeak and jump on Faye for a hug, we burst into giggles at my attempt to hug her. "I'm sorry to disturb this bonding of your's but Miss William I'm sure you remember you were next to provide your pass" I turn to see an annoyed Mrs Sherly.

This is it. Can earth just swallow me right now, I swallow the lump in my throat. I turn to face Faye who is as nervous as I m. I take a deep breath and go for it.

I explain everything to Mrs Sherly how I got late this morning and how the water decided to give up on me while I was in the shower. I explained how I was up till late last night I left out the part that I was on the call with Faye because she was watching a horror movie, I lied instead saying I was studying for the test next week in her class, just to you know flatter her.

I watch as Sherly pinches the bridge of her nose. "I'm sorry Bi-" I cut her off mid-sentence. "Please Mrs Sherly you know how important this trip is for me, you know I would never be careless with all of these, please" I use my most convincing tone and pout my lips. Sherly releases a sigh which sounds like she has been holding on for a while. "I'm aware of how much you value your studies and that you would never disappoint me, but Bianca protocols are protocols. I can't change them for anyone, I'm sorry but you have to stay in the bus throughout the two hour trip"

I turn to Faye with pleading eyes and she gives me a assuring hug. I glance at the bus and well that's my best buddy for the two hours. I walk to the bus and turn around to see Faye doing the mockingjay sign from Hunger games. Im not going to war, thanks for making me realise that I'm miserable. I see mischief in her eyes but before I can say anything, Mr Gordon announces for students to follow him.

As I step into the bus I feel a shiver run down my body, it feels weird as if I'm not alone but I just shake it off.

I take the seat Faye and I were in earlier and start to play games on my phone. Realising that I suck at this, I take a book out of my bag pack and start reading.

I let out a loud sign and play SORRY BY HALSEY. Since I'm alone in the bus, playing music aloud will take my mind off things.

Just as the chorus is about begin, I start singing using my phone as a make-up mic.

"Looks like someone has a story to tell," I freeze at the foreign voice. I turn around facing the most mesmerising green eyes.

I swear my heart skipped a beat.

Well there's the first chapter I'm not sure how it went, well mostly cause it's my first book. Lemme know if you have any insights on how to make it better. I'm open for suggestions and improvements.
