Close some door. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because they no longer lead somewhere.

I fell on my bed, feeling the comfort get to me, hmm this feels good. After that whole 'incident' I dozed off in the bus until Faye woke me up, eyeing my wound. I brushed it off, telling her I fell on the steps, keeping everything about Greeny hidden, I mean what she doesn't know won't hurt her and plus we probably won't even see each other again, after how badly I must have freaked him out but mostly I wasn't ready to tell her what actually happened. Her expression  clearly stated she wasn't buying it, so I just reminded her how clumsy I'm, that kept her off the radar.

The weekend flew by, I just kept myself indulged in my studies, house chores and occasionally novels. I avoided Faye through out the whole weekend, mostly cause if I don't prepare myself well with the fake acting and lies, she'll know something was up, and also I wasn't ready to tell her about my episode. On the bright side, since I was pretty much alone, dad took the opportunity to get some bonding time.

He's a surgeon, so he's mostly out and after mom passed away, he hardly was home, it was his way of dealing with her death. It's been seven years since she left us, but the hole is deep. Mom was everything, she knew me inside-out, during her time we never missed family time. She was dad's and my best friend, after that my circle only had Dad and Faye. Dad dealt with it differently, he involved himself in his work so much just so it could divert his mind, but it only worked occasionally. There wasn't a single day mom wasn't missed.

Every night I would call on her cell phone, although it went straight to voicemail, and tell her everything about my day, my feelings and mostly how much I missed her. I called her that night after the trip and cried my heart out, I would never be able to forget everything, if only I could turn back time.

Dad decided that we should cook lasagne for dinner as a bonding activity, the only problem was we sucked at cooking. We googled a recipe and followed step by step which ended up messing the kitchen in less than half an hour. I was covered in sauce while dad was well a total meal on his own. We laughed it out and decided it's best we order out. We talked about everything, ate ice-cream and decided to watch the most annoying cartoon and make fun of it. I'm pretty sure if the makers of T&J heard us last night, it would have been banned.

I woke up to the sound of banging on my doors, stomping towards the door with annoyance, "What the hec-" I stop mid-sentence to find a very angry Faye, fuming with rage. "What what the heck!" she places her index finger on my chest and shoves me with every sentence, "my calls unanswered," shove "my sms not replied," shove shove shove shove that I'm near my bed "you've been avoiding me, Miss Bianca Williams," a final push which lands me on my bed.  "Will you stop being an ass," I spat back standing up, "I was sleeping peacefully until you came here and started all this ruckus. You could have waited when I reached school," She was shooting daggers at me. "Hell, Something went into my eye, now I can't even glare at you, geez thanks" I couldn't hold it in anymore, I laughed it out watching her poke her own eye to get the dirt out. She straighten as if to  tell me it's not funny but ended up laughing herself.

We hugged each other laughing it out. "Just don't do that again B" I saw concern in her eyes and her words, I nodded in agreement, feeling guilt punch me in the stomach. "Well since I'm up, might as well get dressed," I left for my shower, only finding a sleeping Faye on my way back. I got dressed taking my time since Faye woke me up at 6:30am. Once I was done I woke her up so we could have breakfast, which of course meant Faye would cook since she's capable of it, where as I can even burn water.

We took our time to reach school, normally I'd just walk since it's near by, but Faye insisted we take her car. Faye's  has a normal prius, which she protects more than her life, mostly because that's the only thing her brother has ever given her. We headed to the cafeteria, since Faye had a tummy call again, her eating habits are nasty. She gets hungry about every freaking hour, it's mysterious how her body hasn't even lost a curve.

We sat down after Faye got her tray, I just went for a apple juice. I swear watching Faye devour her food was disgusting, it's like she hasn't eaten for a month or long. Why dear Lord! why didn't you bless my best friend with eating manners🤦🏻‍♀️. I was shaking my head with dismay,  When I saw him, out of all the people, he stood out as if he's the chosen one, you know what I mean. He was smiling at another girl however his eyes weren't gleaming instead they actually looked dull, but I guess he took feel my eyes, he looked around until, it stopped on me and that's when it happened again. My heart skipped.

Our eyes were locked for a while, until I took the courage to distracted myself with Faye's face full of food.
" who's that?" I tried to sound causal, "Who?" she wiped the ends of her mouth to get rid of the stains and food grain left. "Green eyes with the blonde, sitting few seats behind you" her cheeks were filling with red when she realised who I was asking about.

Her eyes were down as she explained who he was" he's Jared beck, captain of the basketball team. A package deal, good looks, brains, athletic, you name it, he has everything, but mostly he's the best player, whether it's the game or girls. " red was creeping it's way more into her face," oh my gawd, is Faye Smith blushing, " she finally looked up at me and smiled. I laughed my lungs out," you're joking right, I thought that the almighty Faye doesn't crush," I smirked ," Shhhh, will you. It's not a big deal anyway. Every girl crushes on him, I mean just look at him, "she shrugs and  lifts her hands up to justify her point." I don't, " I stated," Well, you did end up asking about him out of all the boys in school hun. That's a point, " she pointed at me.

I have to agree, he did get my attention but not because of his looks, only because of the incident. Anyway after hearing his 'playful' side its best I stir clear of him. The bell was about ring, so we decided to head to our classes.

Faye had Math while I had History, we parted ways, when I heard a familiar voice. "Hey nerd, stop," so much for stirring clear.

Lemme know if you have any insights on how to make it better. I'm open for suggestions and improvements🙏👀.

Thank you.
