Keli's POV

I walked into the supermarket and smiled at Trevor.

"Well, hello there." I hopped up on the counter. He laughed.

"Hello." He hopped up next to me.

"So what are we going to do for seven hours." Trevor grinned.

"I don't know, I just sit here and play Candy Crush." I laughed.

"I want a banana." I said. Trevor chuckled.

"Go right ahead, Mathews doesn't care." I jumped off the counter and walked down the rows.

"We're going to have to find something to do!" I yelled to him as I walked back up to the front, peeling my banana. He smiled and looked up from his phone.

"Be quite, I'm on level 52." He said. I rolled my eyes and sat down next to him.

It was now about three in the morning. Me and Trevor sat on opposite registers and bounced a bouncy ball back and forth.

"Tomorrow I'm going to have to bring something else to do cause this is getting boring." Trevor laughed.

"It's your first night, I've been here for over three monthes. What do you think I do?"

"Fail at Candy Crush." He rolled his eyes and smiled. I looked up as I heard the door open. A boy walked in a disappeared around a corner. I slid in behind my register.

"I thought you said that no one comes out at night." I whispered. Trevor looked at me, his eyes kind of popped out.

"They don't." He whispered back. Something seemed off. I watched as he came back out of the aisle and up to my cash register. He placed a single red apple on the counter. I cleared my throat.

"Hello sir, how are you?" I asked as I typed the amount due into the register. He handed me a dollar bill.

"Very good, how are you?" He smiled a toothless smile. I smiled.

"Very good, thank you." I grabbed his change and handed it to him, he waved his hand and picked up his apple.

"Keep it." He said. I nodded.

"Have a nice day." I looked up at him. His almost black eyes sparkled.

"You too." I replied. I watched as he walked out of the doors and down the sidewalk. Trevor's eyes squinted a bit.

"That was strange, we usually don't have people come in at night just for an apple." I giggled.

"Well at least I got one customer on my first night." I shrugged. Trevor looked up at me.

"And I got a tip." He rolled his eyes and laughed.

"Your just lucky." He stated. I hopped back up on the counter and bounced the ball to him.

"I'm very lucky, thank you very much. You've been here for how long? Over three months? Have you ever had a customer? No." I smirked.

"Gosh, who let sassy buns come?" He chuckled. I laughed and rolled my eyes.
