As I pull up in the drive way my mom is already waiting for me outside.
"That's weird I said to myself," I turn my car off and get out of my car.
"Hey mom what's up?"
"So Cody asked me if you can eat dinner with him and I said that's a wonderful idea," she said all happy.
"Mom do I have to?"
"Yes it'll be good for both of you guys."
I walk in with her and she follows me to my room. As I walk into my room I greet my maid who is organizing my cloths.
"Hey sally, thanks."
"No problem Ms.Bella." She responded.
My mom then says, "So Bri what are you going to wear?" As she looks through my closet.
"Hmm..I haven't thought about it." I replied as I turn on the shower.
"You should wear another dress, but this one can be tight." She said.
As I'm getting undressed I look over to see the one she's talking about and I said, "Another dress?"
"Yes Bri you'll look stunning, you have a nice figure too." She responded.
As I'm in the shower I'm preparing my little speech to tell Cody that I see him as a friend and nothing more.
"So-um Cody—um your nice and all," I said to myself. "Ugh I'll sound like an idiot."
As I'm finishing showering I get out and dry myself off. I get dressed and put my heels on, I walk over to my vanity mirror and my mom goes, " do a dramatic make but not too dramatic where you scare him off." She said as she went through my makeup. I rolled my eyes and I start doing my makeup, it turned out nice surprisingly. Then I blow dried my hair and straighten it this time. I was running out of time since I took forever in the shower. As I put my setting spray on I check my phone and Bryan texted me, "Hey Bri do you want to get dinner tonight?" I sighed and I felt bad that I couldn't hangout with him tonight. My mom looked over my shoulder and said. "No no tell him your busy. I can't believe you still haven't called it off with him. Focus on Cody not him." She said as she gives my my purse. I turned away from her and held back my tears.
"Don't cry don't cry don't cry," I said to myself.
I got up and walked downstairs. My mom then told me to have fun and to drive safe.
"Text me when you're on your way back!" She yelled as I walked out the door. I waved at her and shut the door. I got into my car and drove off. As I was driving I called Bryan to tell him the news.
"Hey Bri you down for dinner tonight?" He asked.
"Sorry love I can't, my mom wants me to have dinner with Cody. But tonight I'm going to tell him that we can be friends if he wants and nothing more."
Bryan was quiet for a couple of seconds.
"Bryan, you ok?" I asked.
"..yes Bri." He answered.
I then told him I loved him and I'll call him before I go to sleep. He said ok and ended the call.
When I arrived at Cody's house I was kinda shook, he had a nice mansion like mine. I park my car in his driveway and get out. As I'm walking to the front door I can smell the food.
"It smells great," I said to myself.
I then take a deep breath before I knock on his door.
"Please please understand," I said.
Then I knocked the door. His servant opened it and greeted me.
"Welcome Ms.Brianna, I'm Andrew his servant. I'll call Mr.Rhodes for you."
"Thanks," I replied.
As I'm waiting for Cody I walked around the entrance, it had a big chandelier on top with a grand staircase that leads upstairs. The living room looked nice and the dining area looked well decorated.
"Hello Brianna," Cody said as he hugged me. He was wearing a nice tuxedo with designer shoes.
"Hey Cody, thanks for inviting me here." I said to him.
"Of course please follow me to the dining area." He said.
As I followed him I got to see how big his house.
"Nice house," I said.
"Thanks I'll give you a tour after dinner if you want." He replied.
"Yea sure."
I said.
We then sat down at the dining table. The room was filled with family pictures and awards.
"You look beautiful today and I'm so happy that you're here with me," he said with a smile.
I smiled back and his servants started to bring the food.
"So how was your day so far Bri?" He asked me and takes a sip of his wine.
"Uh pretty good, I worked out most of the morning," I replied as I was playing with the wine cup.
"I'm sorry I texted you on a short notice about this dinner. I wanted to ask you last night but I was nervous." He said while blushing.
"It's ok don't worry about it."
We then started eating and he started telling me stories when he was a little kid.
"Yea I was a trouble maker, I would always fight with the other kids in school. Maybe that's why I don't have friends," he said while laughing.
I laughed with him and said," when I was little I was so attached with my dads. He was my best friend and he would always find time to play with me. No matter how busy his day was."
Cody then grabbed my hand and said, "He must have been a great dad."
I smiled and said, "Yea he was."
When we finished dinner Cody started showing me his house. He had a bowling ally, movie theater, arcade, a huge pool and a tennis court. When we get to Cody's room he shows me around his pictures and drawers. I picked one of them up and said, "This does not look like you."
He laughs and says, "I also have a balcony." And he shows me.
He opens the big doors and the view was so beautiful. He had a city view too and the sun just started to set. We sit down on a couch he has on the balcony. I take my shoes off because my feet were killing me.
"So how is it like living by yourself?"
"Lonely, Yea I have a lot of rooms to do different activities but it's boring without sharing it with someone," he replied.
I smiled and he gets closer to me.
"Brianna it's now or never! Tell him before you do something stupid!" I said to myself.
"Um- Cody..," I said.
"Yea Brianna?" He replies.
There was a moment of silence and he puts his arm around me. My heart started beating fast. I knew what to tell him but I was too scared to actually say it. I didn't want to hurt his feelings.
"I-I just wanted to thank you for-for everything. The dinner and the beach day. You're very generous." I said nervously.
"No problem Brianna," he smiled and leaned in to kiss me.
