Chase Winters and Faith Richards instantly hated each other.

To Chase, Faith was another bratty rich girl... and to Faith, Chase was the supposed golden boy of the school.... yet somehow they both ended up on stage together.

Faith was just mad. Mad at both Quinn and Lili for making her sing again. It had been a while since she last sang and she was downright nervous to face her to be classmates. But her singing wasn't the only thing she was mad about.... it was the person she was supposed to sing with.

Chase 'The Asshole' Winters.

It had to be him.

The minute she said hi to him he treated her like shit. And she just said hi. The guy had major anger issues, that was for sure, but Lili and Mallory told Faith that he'd be through a rough week so that was probably why he was all pissed. But still, he shouldn't have taken out his anger on her.

Only after hours of arguing did they agree to sing together. But the song they were going to sing was undecided as well. Which became the cause of another argument. Finally they decided to sing WILD by Troye Sivan and Alessia Cara. It felt like a nice song for the night... They both knew the lyrics and both of them were fine with it BUT!..

Nick wanted Faith and Chase to each sing alone before they sang together.

Great. Just GREAT!

Faith was not happy about that but whatever, she wanted to sing for some reason. maybe it was because she missed doing it with her dad.

That was how Faith, Lili and Mallory ended up singing Hair by Little Mix. Both girls agreed to do it for Faith, but that wasn't what Faith was thinking about...mostly because Faith was surprised by how well Winters could sing. Like literally, his voice reminded her of Joe Jonas's voice, and believe her when she says it was weird to her him sing Best Song Ever.

When it was their time to sing together she panicked a little. She'd never sung with another guy before...especially not one she JUST met. But it felt normal somehow...singing with Chase. most of the time they smiled, genuinely at each other and gazed into their eyes as they sang... like they'd been doing it for their whole lives.

"We're alike you and I
Two blue hearts locked in our wrong minds
So can we make the most out of no time?
 Can you hold me?
Can you make me leave my demons & my broken pieces behind?"

Faith felt butterflies erupt in her stomach as Chase gave her a grin when people applauded for them, which was definitely weird. she pushed them her thoughts away and returned a smirk to him. Nick and Lili were bursting with happiness as their friends sang together. Lili grabbed Faith as she exited the stage and hooked arms with her and Mallory as she led them to the bar.

Faith felt claustrophobic as she moved through the crowds of people who were cheering at her.

She needed to get out of this place...

She slipped away from Mal and Lili, away from the crowds and went up to the only place that wasn't crowded.

The roof.

She was relieved to find the rooftop empty. Usually, California parties went up all the way to the roof and she was used to that. the place looked comfy, like it was supposed to be used for relaxing.

She sat down on a green cushion and looked up at the night sky, connecting the stars like she used to do with her dad. she made a little heart. in doing so she felt tears prick at her eyes.

She missed her father.

She missed how he would hug her as soon as she got back from school.

She missed how he would lighten up the mood by making lame dad jokes.

But most of all, she missed just his comforting presence.

The stars were her only reminder of him.

Her thoughts were interrupted by footsteps. she got up from the cushion and turned to face the person.

"What th... Richards?" she recognized Chase Winters's voice instantly.

"Why are you here Winters?" she scowled as she returned to her original position.

Chase sighed. "I guess I'm here to get some air... what about you huh? Canada a bit more crowded than California?"

Faith wrapped her hands around her knees and placed her head on them. "My dad died three months ago... ever since I've always needed space... you know... you just can't face people when you can never ever face someone you love again..."

Chase smiled slightly. " it's weird to think that I came up here for the same reason... guess i judged you wrongly... pretty girl." he smirked as he nudged Faith with his elbow.

She rolled her eyes. "oh yeah 'Pretty Boy'?... I guess I judged you harshly too." the pair sat in silence for a moment, but then Chase spoke up.

"Hey uh... this is gonna sound weird but...uh... do you want coke?" he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as Faith erupted in a fit of giggles.

"yeah...I'll have some." she smiled as he took some out from a cooler behind them. Both of them popped open their cans and grinned.

"to coke and stars Richards?"

"to coke and stars Winters."

"Cheers..."
