3rd person POV:

You were nervous, that much you could say. It had been years since you went to an  actual school, let alone one full of kids you didn't know. At least, you didn't know most people...

After you moved to Japan from America, you met a boy who lived just a block away from your house. His name was Shoya, and he was just as hard-headed and stubborn as you! When you first introduced yourself, you were a nervous wreck! After all, "friends" weren't your strong point.

'Nervous...'  Your smiled, remembering meeting his friends, and how they welcomed you instantly. 'I hope they're in my class. I know Miki, but not very well... And there is supposed to be a new girl that isn't me! I wonder what she's like...' All these questions flowed through your head like the river that you and the boys jumped in countless times. You didn't notice where you were walking and bumped right into a girl with pink hair.

"Oh, I-i'm so sorry! Here, let me help you!" You bent down to help the person pick up their things, not noticing that a certain girl was watching your every move, disgusted by how willingly you helped someone with something that isn't yours.

"I wasn't looking where I was going! H-here!" You stood up, giving the things to the girl that you bumped into. "My names (Y/N)! Whats yours?" You were confused when she started digging in her bag for something instead of answering you. Then, she started writing:

"My name is Shouko; Whats yours? Can we be friends?"

You were taken aback, your (h/l) (h/c) hair bouncing as you processed what she just wrote. "You want to be friends? Alright! Oh!" You quickly realized she couldn't hear you and that you had to write, so you took a pencil and wrote: "My name is (y/n). I would love to be your friend!" The look on Shouko's face was  one mixed of happiness and relief, making you smile at your new friend. You motioned for her to follow you. "Come on! I'll show you the way to class!"

As Shouko was following you, all of your thoughts from 5 minutes ago vanished, and were replaced with one:

'I have a friend!'
