Chapter 11

Whoever Kai called just showed up because I saw the head lights flash across the living room window. I don't know who it is but I'm just praying it ain't some other female thinking she taking Kai away from me or Kai tryna embarrass me. I don't know. I been trying not to over think it but how can I not? She won't tell me what's going on and she won't tell me who it is... what the hell am I suppose to think? Gawdd I really hate when she do shit like this cause I never know what she has going on in her mind when she wants to "surprise" me.

*Kai answers the door*

"Hey Beautiful, how are you?"

"I been good chile, I just been tryna keep busy you know..."

"I understand that, I been busy myself lately"

*Jewelle walks into the room*

"Babe..."

*Greyson's mother makes a shocked face and steps back looking at Kai*

"Kai? You didn't tell me you were in a relationship.."

"That's why I decided to have you come over here. This is Jewelle... my girlfriend. We been seeing each other for some while now and I don't want you to think I'll stop coming around because I haven't since me and her been together. You've been there for me since I first met Grey and I feel for you like my own mother. I just want you to know that I'm not gonna lose connection with you."

*Jewelle cuts in*

"Greyson? You're Greyson's mother? .... Kai are you serious?"

*tears form in Greyson's mothers eyes and she looks at Kai strongly*

'Kaiden.... you know you're like my own. I love you hun. I'm happy for you. Greyson would want you to be happy... Its okay with me. I'm sorry for getting all emotional I just wasn't expecting all of this. Its nice to meet you Jewelle.. don't be mad at my girl here.. it took a lot to even do this I'm sure."

"Why do you need her approval Kai?"

"Jewelle you promised"

"Alright"

*Greyson's mother feels the tension and says her goodbye's, giving Kai the plate and leaving*

"HOW THE HELL YOU GONE BRING YOUR EX GIRLFRIEND'S MAA IN HERE AND EMBARRASS ME LIKE THAT KAI???"

"The hell are you talking about? I didn't fucking embarrass you! That woman has been through a lot over the past few years and I was apart of her and her daughters life. She just lost her husband and she lost her only child. IM ALL SHE GOT LEFT! I'm not gonna hide anything from her!"

"So if she would have disagreed to us then what??" 

"Then she would have made the decision to leave my life. I never said we would break up ! Quit jumping to assumptions that don't even make sense."

"You had the audacity to have her come over here to meet me???? Why in the hell would I want to meet her? Why couldn't you have talked to her by yourself?"

"Because this was a big deal to me! Damn, you can't see that? This was the hardest thing I ever had to do. And its probably putting a lot more stress on her! In her mind I'm suppose to be with her daughter but I can't becasue she's gone! I can't be with Greyson! She's dead! She's not coming back! Its a wrap for us! There is no more "us" between me and Greyson because she does not exist anymore! You're mad for no reason! Damn."

"Alright Kai.. whatever"

"Yea.." 

*Kai grabs her jacket and walks out of the house, walking off down the street.*

*Jewelle follows*

"Kai come back to the house !!"

"I need to clear my head Jew.."

"No! Come your ass back to the house!"

"For what? For you to bitch and complain at me some more over some shit that matters to me? That's like my mom man, I just wanted and hoped you would understand that."

"Baby I'm sorry!"

"Man whatever.."

*Jewelle catches up to Kai*

"Babe look, I'm sorry forreal like I didn't see how important it was to you... I was blinded by jealousy. I'm sorry... I was out of character. I'll call and apologize to her if you want me to. Please just stop being mad at me!"

*Kai stops in her tracks; looking Jewelle in the eye*

"You love me?"

"Duhh dummy, if I didn't love you I wouldn't be out here trying to fix this."

"I love you enough to trust you and not get jealous over little things. Of course my thoughts get the best of me sometimes but my feelings for you reassure me that you wouldn't do me wrong and you will respect me and how I feel.... Can you trust me?"

"Yes I trust you Kai, I just don't trust everybody else. Like what if she's lying and ends up trying to break us up or something crazy like that?"

"Babe I promise you she's not like that. She wouldn't do that to me."

"Then I trust your word"
