Aria's POV

"Because masturbation is a completely healthy and normal part of life." Was all I heard walking into the Alvarez apartment

Penelope was sat on to the couch next to a figure with a blanket over their head. Concluding that it was Alex and that I had obviously walked in on something very awkward, I paused in my spot

"I'm just here to see Lydia, and yet I've seemed to walk upon something that makes me want to leave." I spoke, awkwardly eyeing Penelope

Before she could saying anything else, Lydia dramatically opened her curtain, signaling she had heard the whole conversation between mother and son, "It is not!"

Alex ripped the blanket off of his head and sunk further into the couch when he noticed the out numbering presence of women in the room.

"It is a dirty and sinful habit for sad ugly people. Not living beautiful angels." Lydia declared, making her way closer to the couch

I still stood in front of the door, debating wether or not to sneak away. I placed my hand on the door knob, before slowly turning it in hopes of making no sounds.

"Uh, uh, Missy. You walked in on this chat so you're gonna stay." Penelope called out, pointing her finger to the arm chair

"I really don't want to be traumatized today." I groaned, dragging my way over to the chair

"It wasn't me doing it. It was her." Alex said, pointing to Penelope and referring to what Lydia has said earlier

Lydia and I both gasped at the realization. Lydia, because she was ashamed her daughter was doing something like that. Me, because I realized that Alex had to have walked in on her for them to be having this chat."

"Did you learn that in the army? Because no one in our family has ever done that!" Lydia said

"Are you sure I should be here for this. I can always come back another time." I said, leaning to pick up my bag

"Sit!" Penelope said before turning back to Lydia, "Mami, please. Stop with the old school prudishness. It's natural."

"Maybe for men, because they are animals and cannot help themselves. But women are civilized. We are mothers. We do not want the hands that wipe the tears of our child down the front of our pants. I'll bet that this young lady has never done a thing like that." Lydia said, turning to look at me

"Good luck, Alex. I'll pray for you." I said, snatching my bag and sprinting out of the apartment before I was forced to answer Lydia's question
