Lei's POV
What the fuck was that?
I believed I was alone when I was dancing, but out of nowhere Sta- I mean Noah appeared. He didn't just appear, he had the audacity to slow dance with me and then leave. He didn't even give me an explanation. Not that I want one. But I would like a warning next time.
I don't get it. He ignores me for a whole week, he doesn't spare me a glance or a thought. It was like I was invisible to him. It didn't help that I didn't try to talk to him at all. It wasn't because I didn't want to. It was because then I would make him living with us okay, but it's not. Adrian didn't think about me at all before allowing the Stalker into our apartment and my life.
I sit at my desk, staring at my psychology textbook but it's useless. Nothing is comprehending in my brain. All I can think about is the book I've been reading during my spare time. It's called 'The Definition of Perfection' and it's a world where being flawed is a disease that you can contract after your 18th birthday. The protagonist is a Perfect and her best friend is a flaw. Nobody knows what happens to the flaws but she intends to figure out and find him. It's really interesting, which is why it's hindering my studying.
Ping
do you want to go clubbing tonight? alexa, spence, harrison and drew will be there. - Riley
I ponder if I really want to dress up, drink alcohol and do something possibly stupid.
You could have fun.
That is definitely the devil on my shoulder telling me that.
definitely, i'll be ready in less than 2 hours
alright, i'll pick you up in 2 hrs - Riley
The next two hours go by in a flash, I shower and get ready while singing my heart out. I'm now ready with my natural (sort of straight and sort of does whatever it wants) hair, light makeup and a red bodycon dress.
I hear a honk and assume it's Riley, I grab my purse which holds my phone, lip gloss and twenty dollars. You won't catch me dead with over $100 when I go out somewhere that involves drinks, starting now. I run out of my door and pat Adrian's head as I rush past him.
"I'm going clubbing with Riley, see you later!" With a wave of my hand I'm out the door. At the sight of the stairs I stop. I take of my shoes and carefully walk down the narrow stairs, when I've made it safely I do the sign of the cross and a silent Amen.
"Hello, Ri." I slide into the passenger seat of the car, which lightly smells of cinnamon and apples, Riley's signature scent.
"Hey girl." She wears a similar dress to mine except her's is dark blue and has long sleeve see-through netting.
"You look hot, goddamn, look at my fine-ass best friend!" I hype her up and she laughs.
"No guy is going to be able to keep their eyes off of you tonight," She says in a sing song voice "maybe you'll find the one. Or someone to keep you occupied until you find the one," she pauses but then her face lights up, "How is your new roommate?"
I told the girls about Stalker the next day after I found out Stalker has a name and that he's going to be living with Adrian and I. But I haven't informed them about the incident yesterday.
"Don't freak out. We slow danced and I thought it was pretty nice but then he left! All he said was "I have to go" in his stupidly attractive voice!" I throw my hands up in irritation. Her eyes, wide as saucers, stare at me.
"No fucking way! He's in love with you! I need the whole story, all the deets and how long was his shower afterwards?"
I shake my head, laughing at Riley's excitement and I tell her the whole story on the way to the club.
