"I just don't get why you can't be like other kids." Mom was lecturing me, again! "Have you met other kids around here?" I wouldn't stop arguing with her. She just sighed. "Just... try." She wouldn't give up. She left the room just as Dad entered. "Seriously? Again? Your principal's right, what else could you possibly do? You've done everything. Now you spray paint buildings and vandalize things? Come on!" I just sat there and ignored him, pulling out my comic as he continued to lecture me. "Are you even listening? What, are you reading Tales from the Crypt? I told you to stop reading that trash." He shook his head in disappointment. "Dad, they aren't trash. They're exciting, scary, fun, adventurous. What do you call the things you do? Let me help you. T-R-A-S-H!" I started laughing. Clearly I wasn't getting the point. "We're done." Dad sighed. "We didn't even start." I grinned. "Don't be smart with me." Dad was furious. "I'm not going to be dumb all my life like you, dad. Grandma was right, you need a life!" I wouldn't stop. "Just go back to school, tell your teacher your sorry and continue your day." Dad was definitely done with me. "Whatever." I taunted him. He couldn't do anything. He pointed to the door. "Go back to school. Your walking!" I left and rode my bike to school. It was the first time in a couple of years.
