Meeting... Again: Part II

'I am so gonna kill Gumi when I see her,' I thought just after Gumi left me and Kaito alone. I looked across the table to where Kaito is. When I got a view of his face, he looked away. It seems that he is trying to avoid my gaze. Maybe I should start a conversation with him?

"Ehm... So, do you want to get anything?" I asked. Oh God... I feel so nervous!

He looked up. "No thank you. I can just order water." After that, he stood up and headed to the counter.

"W-wait a second!" I said, standing up and grabbing his hand. Kaito turned around to look at me. Our gazes met and my face began to heat up. I could see Kaito's face growing red after every second. Unconsciously, I squeezed his hand. "Let's order together." This resulted in my face going bright red, and getting a massive blush from him. Oh my God! Gumi, just ditch Kaiko and come back for me!

~Time Lapse: 1 Minute and 27 Seconds Later...~

After we had ordered two drinks for ourselves, we settled back down in our spots. Kaito's face was still blushing, with tints of pink across his cheeks. Well, why did I even say that in the first place? I might as well start another conversation. This time, don't make the situation even more akward!

"Umm... Er... Are you going to the Christmas party on the 19th?" I blurted out the first sentence I had in mind. Oh my firetrucks, this is just too embarrassing!

"Yes. I'll be joining." He replied, trying to keep the conversation cool.

"Do you have a date yet...?" I asked, not knowing what I said. As soon as my brain processed what I just said, I immediately covered my mouth. Why the hell did I even asked that?! Now the situation is going to be more embarrassing.

"N-no. Not yet. You d-don't have one too?" He stammered, along with the blush intensifying. Doesn't he look cute like that? I mentally slapped myself. Why did I suddenly thought about that?! Anyways, back to the conversation.

"No..." I slowly replied. He opened his mouth to speak again. I was expecting him to change the topic, but what he said was really shocking.

"You wanna be my date then?"

What the hell... Seriously?! On the outside, you can see me frozen in place with a shocked look. But on the inside, I am litterally having a party. Fireworks everywhere! Jesus, I have no idea what else to reply! But I can't say no!

"S-sure," I mumbled. My face was beginning to heat up again. All of a sudden, Kaito stood up and pulled his wallet out. He pulled out a few bills and placed it on the table. Kaito then walked over to me and held out his hand. "Well, shall we go?"

"W-where are we going then?" I asked while I placed my hands in his. It fits. It's as if our hands were sculpted to fit together. "We're going somewhere. Somewhere special." He replied, murmuring the last part under his breath. Oh my Gorillas! What if he's taking me to his house? What if he suddenly jumps on me? What if- I once again mentally slapped myself. Why the hell would I think about that?!

"Uh, Miku, you alright?" He asked, concern visible on his face. "Yeah, yeah! I'm fine!" I answered.

As we headed out the door, I noticed that he was still holding my hand. I blushed. Looks like he didn't notice that he was still holding it. A few minutes later, we arrived at our destination. It was the park, but once we entered, Kaito led me toward the lake. What are we going to do here anyways?

"We're going to have a little talk here," he said as if reading my mind. It looks like Gumi-chan isn't the only mind reader here.

"What're we going to talk about anyways," I inquired, crossing my arms and looking at the humongous man-made lake. He slowly sat down and patted the spot next to him. "Take a seat first," he replied. I took a seat as well, but a few inches away from him. Kaito frowned at my actions, but started talking nonetheless. "We're gonna talk... about the incident," Kaito said. Why would he want to talk about that?

"Yeah, what about it?"

"You see..." He opened his mouth to answer, but I answered first.

"Thank you," he looked at me with a dumbfounded look. "Thank you for catching me. If it wasn't for you, I would've gotten injured or ended up in the hospital." I continued.

"W-well, your welcome. It's my pleasure. I've always wanted to say 'your welcome' to you after that incident you know." Kaito said. I stood up and brushed the grass off my skirt. Then I walked over to him and held out my hand. Kaito gave me a questioning look.

"So, we're friends now, right?" I said. Wow, I have never been so bold my whole life. Kaito smiled softly and stood up. Our hands met once again.

"Yeah, we're friends."
