Our band class starts at 7:00am every other day, but I'm still not used to waking up early.
As I'm washing my face, I get a FaceTime call from Mark. I pick it up.

"Goodmorning beautiful!"
"Hey baby"
Mark and I have been calling each other every morning since we started dating. It's just a habit at this point.
"Did you go over the new music for today?"
"Yea I did last night. Did you?"
"Haha no I didn't. Hopefully it isn't too hard though." he said with a nervous laugh.
It's not like him to not practice his music. He always makes time to be the best student that he can be.
"Why didn't you practice?"
"I was working on a new song for your dad to hear, and I guess I lost track of time"
Hearing that made me want to puke. I can't believe he's actually going to team up with my dad.
"Wait, a new song? But you already have a ton of amazing songs I'm sure he would like."
"I just want to make a really good impression on him. This could really affect me in a long run"
"You're literally the most talented musician I know. He'll definitely like whatever you have to offer. Plus, if he doesn't like it, then I can just keep you all to myself!" I say playfully
"Thanks Em, but this opportunity means a lot to me and I don't want to mess it up"
The more he talks about working with my dad, the more uneasy I feel.
"Mark, working with my dad might not be the be- "
"I gotta head out now babe. I love you, see you in a bit!"
Mark hangs up on me before I can finish my thought. I sigh and continue with my morning routine before heading out the door.

The time is 6:50am and I see Mark waiting for me at the front entrance, where we usually meet. He greets me with a usual kiss and we head to the band room together as always.
