Soulmates are a worldwide phenomenon that occurred after a baby was born with a name on her wrist in 1856.
After much research and study, it was discovered that when a human body is exposed to specific hormones, it develops markings meant to help f...

The Korean language is spoken by about 77 million people. It is the official language of both North and South Korea. There are numerous amounts of local dialects. Its linguistic homeland is believed to be somewhere around Manchuria. Hangul is the Korean script. Verbs always come last, and there are two different counting systems.
Now, you may be wondering why I'm telling you all this. Well, I am 99.99% certain that my soulmates, the seven pieces of my soul, are the world famous BTS! BTS (which stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan) is a K-pop boy band that originated in Seoul.
BTS consists of seven members: Kim Seokjin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), Kim Namjoon (Rap Monster or RM), Park Jimin (Jimin), Kim Taehyung (V), and Jeon Jungkook (Jungkook).
You may think I'm crazy. You're probably thinking, "She's just trying to get in their pants and steal some of their fame." Most people probably couldn't back up their claim of being BTS's soulmate. I, however, will proceed to present my case.
Exhibition #1: I received all seven of my marks on July 26, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. exactly. According to this tweet I found, BTS got their Marks at 11:00 P.M. on the exact same day. Which is a mere six hours after I got mine.

Exhibition #2: All of the Marks on my body come from one of their songs. 'I'm your calico cat' is from Serendipity by Jimin. 'You are the cause of my euphoria' is from, you guessed it, Euphoria by Jungkook. 'We are the children of the moon' is from 4 O' Clock by Taehyung. 'Dance with me' is from Hoseok's Just Dance. 'Without you I am nothing' is from Yoongi's First Love. Jin's Epiphany is where 'not so perfect but so beautiful' comes from. And last, but most certainly not the least, 'we got different stars and stories' is from Namjoon's Reflection. Still not convinced? Here's something else for you.
Exhibition #3: A fan posted this picture of Namjoon shortly after everything went down at that fan meet.

On his hand is a little golden starburst that looks like a miniature ball of light. My name is Akari. And what does Akari mean? Light. If that was not enough to convince you I am most likely the soulmate of BTS, I don't know what else will.
Moving on. After pulling out my stalker skills from middle school, I managed to find out all this information. I also discovered that they were coming to Toronto to perform on August 31.
That meant I had a little over a month to prepare to meet them. This included having to buy a concert ticket. Which leads me to where I'm at now, sitting on my bed, waiting for the tickets to go on sale.
BTS tickets can sell for as low as $141.00 with an average price of $299.00. The lower priced ones are usually for seats in the nosebleed sections while the higher priced ones are by the stage and include a fan meet and greet. The ticket I was currently praying I would be able to get was sitting at the pretty price of $225.50 and would let me have that meet and greet! I needed to get this ticket.
It was currently 11:58 at night, and I had my hand hovering anxiously over my laptop's touchpad. If I was even a second late, I would lose my opportunity to meet my soulmates. I'd find another way of course, of that there's no doubt. But this is the easiest way and the quickest.
11:59 is the time my phone tells me. A couple more seconds now. I hunch over to get my fingers closer to the touchpad. This would clear a significant amount of money out of my bank account but it was worth it to me. My soulmates wouldn't be able to find me, so I'd just have to find the—shit! It's 12:00!
I hurriedly press down on the touchpad of my laptop. I must have clicked the purchase button a hundred times in the span of a few seconds, but it doesn't matter because.......my page is reloading?
Fuck.
If it didn't register my purchase, there was absolutely no chance of me getting a ticket. ARMYs (that's what the fans of BTS are called, though I think they mean more to BTS than most regular fans) are on tickets like white is on white rice. There would be none left if I didn't manage to hit the purchase button before my page crashed.
I hover the cursor over the refresh symbol which could either be my salvation or my doom. My heart is pounding frantically in my chest. Sweat is sliding down my neck, and my palms are clammy. I press down.
"Thank fuck!" was the only thought that ran through my head as I see the words "purchase completed" on my screen. I had barely slipped by and got the ticket to my soulmates. Now, I just have to figure out what I'm going to do next.
They're going to come here on August 31. That means I have over a month to save up money. I am assuming they'd want me to travel with them and even if they don't, I absolutely refuse to be separated from my soulmates for any longer. I had waited this long and worked far too hard to let their career stop me from being with them.
I'd have to talk to my landlady about paying next month's rent early and hopefully moving out. My landlady, Mrs. Jackson, was a kind, gentle woman. She had a son named Percy who helped me move in when I first started living here. Her husband (and soulmate) had died a couple years back and her son was currently in college, so I became like a daughter to her. She'd always invite me for cookies and talk to me about how she met her soulmate.
She did have a brother who was always rude and unbearable, but luckily he didn't come around that often. I'm sure she'd understand the situation if I explained it to her. Besides that, I need to talk to my boss at the café. I can already imagine how well that's going to go. And I'd have to pack up all my stuff in my apartment, though there isn't a lot to pack in the first place.
There was plenty I had to do to get ready for the concert in little more than a month. But, I was more than prepared for it. After all, it was for the seven pieces of my soul. And for them, I'd do anything. Even learn a new language. I guess I better download Duolingo then.
___________________________________ A/N: Thoughts? I hope you all enjoyed it! I apologize for those not comfortable with profanity. Akari uses it quite a bit. If you guys are cool with it, the next chapter will probably be the boys' Marks. I'm trying to use Photoshop the best I can but no promises 😂. Other than that, I've started watching Run! BTS and it's hilarious! Please vote and comment! Until next time, my fireflies!
Edit-5/28/20-I've changed the years!!! This was originally supposed to be set in the future of 2020. Due to lack of material and other circumstances, it's now set in 2017!!!!!!
Edit-7/01/20–I changed (RM) to (RapMonster or RM) because Joonie changed his name on Nov. 13
***Epiphany and Euphoria originally came out in 2018. In this fanfic, we're gonna speed it up and say they actually came out in 2017. Let's also pretend like they dropped a teaser for Serendipity and the part about "I'm your calico cat" was included in the teaser 😊
