"I'm sorry about that. Do you feel up to starting now?"

I do my best not to reveal the rampant thoughts running through my mind, as I respond to Yeonhae. "Yeah, sure. I'm good whenever you are."

She folds into herself, a self-deprecating smirk on her face. The discomfort she's feeling is obvious, but I don't comment on it. I would be uncomfortable too if someone had to witness me being berated by my boss. I wait patiently in silence, careful not to rush her.

A small part of me rebels, whispering, "She doesn't want you, you're worthless, no one needs you." I ignore it and return my attention to Yeonhae who finally seems ready to talk.

"Again, I'd like to say that I'm sorry. I wish you didn't see that," is how she starts the conversation off, messing with her hair and tucking it behind her ear.

"It's fine. Are you okay?" I ask her, shifting slightly in my seat. Hmm. She's sorry that I saw what happened and not sorry for what she said. So, she's like that, huh? The type who's sorry only when they're caught.

I let out a silent sigh and wait for her answer. "Yes. Follow me please." As she speaks, she starts to walk off. Scrambling up, I quickly make to follow after her. Leaving the small alcove, we head back to the main area.

We have to dodge around a lot of people who are too focused on what they're doing to see that they're about to walk into somebody. It's obvious that everyone takes their job seriously and are doing their best to prepare for the concert in less than—I check my phone—three hours.

Yeonhae stops at a couple of people who are discussing something. They're too caught up in their conversation to notice us. One of them is clearly distressed, while the other person tries to calm them down.

"But, Areum, this is so unlike her! You know Subin hardly ever gets sick!" The guy who says this is frantically waving his arms about, trying to get the other person to understand his worries
