ALAIZA'S POV

It was just another day at school. It was 8 am, 10 minutes till the bell went off for the first lesson to start. I caught sight of Melainie walking far in the distance. I jogged and caught up with her in no time.

"Yo, ma bish."

"Sup, Liza?" (Liza is my nickname)

"Nothing. I need your help." I smiled, sugar sweet.

"What is it?" Melainie asked, curiosity peeking through her voice.

"Surprise." I winked at her and ran up the stair to my first class. I had biology, same class as Josh.

"Good morning class," greeted our bio teacher, Mr. Ross. "Today I'll be changing your seating plan and pairing you up, two by two. Pack your things up and clear your desks. You have 30 seconds."

Mr. Ross was a young teacher with brown hair, black eyes, tall, strong physique. He was handsome, very attractive and all the girls literally threw themselves except for me of course. He is a pretty cool teacher otherwise, but he is strictly professional and stern with his students. I was snapped out of my thoughts when he announced my name.

"Alaiza and Josh, sit there!" He pointed towards the back of the class, the last two desks at the very back. Students kill to sit at the back, you could do literally anything there and the teacher won't notice. Anyway, I was so astounded. I wasn't sure if this was a coincidence or.. what.

I sat down, feeling pretty uncomfortable and shy because Josh was around me. His presence gave me tingles all over.

"Hey." He smiled a gorgeous smile. Aww.

"Hi, hello." I said, testing out my voice.

"You okay? Hmmm... that night, at the party?" He said, snapping his fingers while trying to remember. He looked so cute, his handsome face scrunched up while he tried to think. His blue eyes held a deep meaning, and I couldn't tell what was that something.

"Yeah, I was okay. My best friend came to get me later." I smiled, feeling butterflies in my stomach.

"Ha, I saw her. She's Melainie, right? She's just damn." He said, winking.

I stopped smiling and looked away, my long hair covering my face so he couldn't read my expression. I looked back at him and plastered on a fake smile even though my heart was tearing at the thought of him.. and my best friend.

"Oh, so.. you know her?" I asked, trying not to sound jealous.

"Not exactly. Just heard Holly call out her name real loud, I could hear 'Melainie, Melainie' even over the pumping music." He gave an easy smile, shrugging his shoulders.

Yeah, he probably likes her. Why not? Melainie is a redhead, with a pleasant round face, straight nose, plump lips and gorgeous eyes. He has every reason to fall for her and not me. I'm just plain. Plain. Plain.

"Oh," was all I said.
