Melainie's POV

"Tell what??" Alaiza looked at me, surprised.

"That.." I stuttered, so nervous all of a sudden.

"Why are you stuttering?" She raised an eyebrow for the hundredth time today.

"I love someone." I admitted.

"You're joking." She said in a warning tone.

"I'm not." I said solemnly.

"What the hell!" She slapped my arm continuously.

"Stopppp!" I begged.

"No I won't because you were in love and you didn't tell me! You suck as a best friend." She said, hands on her hips.

"I was nervous about what you'd think." I said.

"Why would I matter what I think?" She questioned.

"Because I'm.. I'm in love with a girl."

"WHAT?" She screamed.

I flinched at her outburst and she softened immediately.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. You love a girl?" She asked again, just to be sure.

"Yeah." I whispered.

She held my hand and took me all the way through the main door of my house and into my bedroom.

"YAYYY! I'M SO HAPPY!" She laughed, bouncing on my bed.

"Huh? I thought.."

"Shut up, Lay. I'm so happy that you love someone, it doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy. Love is blind and it has no boundaries." She carried on dreamily while I stared at her in confusion.

I expected her to be mad at me for being a lesbian but, okay. It's even better that she isn't.

"BUT!" She boomed. "WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST TELL ME EARLIER?" She started playfully wrestling with me.

I hugged her tightly and said, "I wasn't sure about my feelings too, but now I'm sure and now I know that this is exactly who I am, and this is where I belong."

"Aww, I'm so happy, babes." She giggled like a little girl.

"Are you really sure that you have no problem with me being a... you know?" I asked, uncertainty clear in my shaky voice.

"Yeaaaah, dude. I'm more than happy for you." She kissed my forehead and flopped on the bed.

"So.. who?" She questioned, looking into my eyes.

I knew what she was asking but I didn't want to answer it. So as usual, I dodged the question.

"I'm hungry." I smiled sweetly.

"Nah-uh, babe. Who?" She asked again.

Daaang, I was trapped. I scratched my head in frustration.

"I'll tell you when the time comes, please understand." I finally said.

"Okay I get it. You don't want me hitting up on your crush eh. I love Josh so chill." She laughed.

"I know you're straight but did you ever consider going bi-sexual or lesbian?" I asked, my stomach churning. I wanted to know her answer desperately.

"Hmm it depends." She finally said after a long pause.

I hoisted myself up on one elbow and looked at her. I expected her to say 'eww' or 'no way' but when I looked at her innocent face, I knew her answer was genuine.

"What do you mean by it depends?" I asked thoughtfully.

"It means that it depends on who that person is. Suppose if you love me, you're my best friend, right? So I won't break your heart." She smiled sweetly, propping herself up on one elbow to look at me properly too.

"Even if you love him?"

"Hmm, Josh is a crush. He isn't my boyfriend so what does it matter?" She said.

"Yeah, ok..." I faded off.

Alaiza hopped off my bed and put on her flip flops.

"Okay babes, I gotta go back home before my parents call the police." She laughed.

"Okay sure." I walked with her to the door.

She hugged me tightly, and I hugged her back almost instantly.

"See you tomorrow!" She chirped cheerfully.

"Yeah." I replied.

I looked at her as she walked off, then closed the door. I climbed onto my bed and fell asleep, dreaming about Alaiza.
