The trio of Zia, Sky, and Emmy have decided to take a rest stop on their way to the next gym in Olivine City.

While Zia cooked up something to eat and Sky went to go get more sticks for the fire, Emmy was polishing Zia's gym badges for some reason. "Emmy, would you care to explain what you are doing?" The owner of said badges asked, not even looking away from her stew.

"I'm cleaning your badges, what's it look like? I noticed one had some dirt on it and I cleaned it, and then the others looked dirty compared to it so I'm cleaning them to." The Serperior exclaimed, waving around the handkerchief she had on one of her vines in the air.

"I didn't know I chose such an OCD Pokémon as my starter." Zia sighed, stirring the pot a few more times before letting it simmer. "I always felt something off, you were too blindsided by the cuteness." Sky said as she came back, a stack of twigs and sticks wrapped up in her tail.

Zia smiled at her in thanks as she set the kindle next to her for easy access. "You say what you want, but by the time I'm done, you will have the shiniest badges of them all!" Emmy exclaimed haughtily, going back to her task as the other two rolled their eyes fondly.

"My mystery stew is done." Zia announced as she sat back on her heels. "Come on, Emmy, we're tied right now, let's see who wins this time." Sky called for the Serperior. "Go ahead and take your turn guessing, I'm not done yet." She murmured.

Suddenly, the Luxray's head snapped up as her ears flickered. Knowing that's a sign she's hearing something, Zia followed her gaze. Three black shapes stuck out of a nearby bush. Curious, the lynx Pokémon walked over and tapped one of the strange things before backing away.

They were pulled back into the bush before three Pokémon walked out. They were little bird Pokémon, with pitch black feathers over their body, some of them forming a sort of pointed hat on their heads. They had big yellow beaks and yellow legs.

Murkrow: The Darkness Pokémon
It is said that when chased, it lures its attacker onto dark mountain trails where the foe will get lost.

"Murkrow." "Murkrow." "Murkrow." The three Murkrow sung together in a type of harmony. They then started to laugh and goof around. Even Emmy had looked up to watch them in interest.

"They seem pretty nice." Zia stated, knowing the Pokédex entries can be misleading sometimes. The Murkrow then began to chant as they marched around. "Murkrow!" One suddenly cried to the other two who ran and snatched three of the four gym badges lying on the tree stump where Emmy left them.

Zia gasped and watched as they flew off into a nearby tree branch. "Give those back! They're not yours." She yelled up at them, angry. "Krow-Murkrow." They said together and humphed, looking to the side.

"I take back what I said about you being nice. Monit, quick attack that tree!" Zia ordered as she let out the Gliscor. He rammed into the tree trunk at a fast speed, making the three dark/flying-types fall to the ground.

"Now I got you." Zia growled as she stalked over. However, the three Pokémon then used mud-slap, kicking up sand and mud at her that made her cover her eyes, allowing them to fly away. "Follow those Murkrow." She told her only flying-type. "Got it." He said and glided after them.

Up in the air, Monit got right behind the three relatively easily. What was not so easy was when they began shooting around him in black blurs, confusing him on where to look. "They're using double team on him." Sky stated. "More like sextuple team." Emmy corrected as they watched.

Then, the three Murkrow tackled into Monit from all sides, making him fall back to the ground. "Sky!" She called and the Luxray ran and jumped, catching the hurt Gliscor on her back. "You okay?" Zia asked, glaring at the Murkrow as they laughed and flew away.
