Sandstrike's Curse

If you are reading this before Sky Full of Shadows, here are a few things you will need to know:
• There was a war between ShadowClan and SkyClan over territory, which led to many lives lost. It was started by Daisystar, who was eventually killed in a battle.
• Silentwind fell in love with a SkyClan warrior, Kestrelwing, and was caught and was exiled. He joined SkyClan afterwards and his parents and sister followed him a few days later, joining SkyClan as well. Daisystar chose Owlheart as her new deputy. While there, his sister was also in love with a SkyClan cat.
• After Daisystar dies, Owlheart becomes Owlstar and chooses Fawnbriar as his deputy.
• Silentwind eventually created peace between the two Clans after convincing Badgerstar to have peaceful talks with Owlstar. Silentwind, his mother, and his sister eventually rejoin ShadowClan since the conflict is over and Owlstar lets him rejoin.
• Silentwind eventually joins SkyClan again after missing his mate and daughter.

A dark cream tom pads outside the warriors' den. It is only a little bit past dawn. The tom yawns and stretches out his limbs, then looks around at his surroundings.

"Hey, Sandstrike!" His niece, Aspensong, calls out to him from a distance. He pads over to her, greeting her by touching heads.

"What's up?" The tom asks her, looking into her eyes.

"Fawnbriar wants to talk to all of us this morning," Aspensong meows. "I don't know why it's just a kin thing, but I bet it's something important."

"It must be," Sandstrike replies, thinking about all of the possibilities. "Is Tulipblossom allowed to come?" He asks.

"I don't think so," Aspensong meows. "I think Fawnbriar wants it to just be us. I'm pretty sure Falconflight can come, though."

"Okay, I'll go tell him," Sandstrike promises, turning around to head back towards the warriors' den.

"I'll be waiting here for Fawnbriar and Cinderdust to return from dawn patrol!" Aspensong calls out as he pads away. Sandstrike then slides his way back into the warriors' den, spotting Falconflight asleep in his nest. He walks over towards his son and gives him a quick shove on his shoulder.

"Huh...?" Falconflight meows, his eyes blinking open.

"Fawnbriar wants to talk to all of us this morning," Sandstrike informs his son. "I don't know what it is, but it seems important."

"It better be," Falconflight meows, letting out a few whines as he rolls over in his nest. "I was having a good dream."

"Now, get up," Sandstrike demands. "It's past dawn, you should not be sleeping in this late. You're not an apprentice anymore."

"Fine.." Falconflight meows, slowing getting up out of his nest. He gives his messy fur a few licks to make sure it looks nicer and heads out of the warriors' den alongside his father.

"Oh, they're back," Sandstrike meows, padding over towards the group of cats, his wonderful kin. "I'm sorry we're late," he apologizes as he approaches his family. "Falconflight slept in and I had to go wake him up."

"That's fine," Sagepool is first to meow. "It's hard not to sleep in sometimes, especially when your nest is comfortable," she meows with a purr.

Wow, this must be extremely important if Sagepool is joining us. She's the main medicine cat and the second oldest cat in the Clan! Sandstrike thinks. He looks around at the other cats around him. Sagepool, Fawnbriar, Fallensnow, Cinderdust, Aspensong, Maplefrost, Falconflight. All of us are here.
