It had been weeks since you had been able to genuinely smile. When Seonghwa called you last night and asked whether you wanted to go out to dinner today, you almost wanted to tell a lie and save it for another time.

But you could picture the frown that would no doubt spread over his features if you turned him down. So you agreed and that is how you got here.

This is your fourth date with the man. You would be lying if you said you weren't attracted to him. He was absolutely stunning. It was hard for you to pick up on any flaws.

Even as you sat across from him over dinner, listening to his day as he tucked into his steak, you were still quite amazed by the fact that he wanted to go out with you.

You'd been acquainted through your mutual friend, Hongjoong, for almost six months by the time he asked you to linger back with him after going to a group lunch together.

The first date wasn't filled with as many nerves as one may expect and you thought that would be because you both already knew each other. But by the time you were having dinner, you noticed he was shaking and messing up his speech almost as much as you were.

The next two only seemed to bring you both closer. Each night would consist of hours of you both texting or even calling sometimes, before either of you would even consider going to bed.

Before too long, you had both finished your meals and the time to make the walk down the street to your shared apartment arose.
Seonghwa paid for it all, even after you did your best to convince him to allow for you to pay for at least half. He only insisted that this was his treat.

Once out on the sidewalk, he walked by your side in a close enough proximity that his fingers brushed against yours. You chose to make that next move, intertwining your hands.

This added layer of comfort provided for a slight tug upward on your lips. The other seemed to notice you were down. To be honest he had noticed as soon as he saw you but he wanted to bring it up at a later point.

You were only a few minutes away from your apartment building when he suddenly pulled you to a stop. There was a small bench beside you both— somewhere for pedestrians to take a seat.

He quietly led you over to it, sitting you both down before addressing your confused stare.

"Something's off, don't tell me that you're fine because I know you well enough by now to pick up on the fawned expression you've been holding all night," He speaks in a way that makes you feel comfortable enough to tell him almost anything.

"I didn't ruin the dinner, did I?" You grow concerned, hoping that your mood hadn't put everything into a disarray.

"Talk to me, Y/N," He addresses you, reaching to grab your other hand as he holds them both on his lap.

"Work has just been really stressful recently. I've been getting a lot of clients which is great but so many of them expect me to work at the speed of lightening and to be available 24/7. On top of that my mother is sick and I cant be with her because she's in another country. Joong has been a great friend with it all but he is also busy and I just don't know who else to talk to," Your voice wavers slightly.

He frowns delicately before letting go of one hand in order to pull you into an embrace.

"Let it all out if you need," He mutters over your back. Your tears begin to fall more freely as your emotions all bubble to the surface once more. "You can always talk to me. Whenever Joong is busy, call me instead. I'm here for you and it hurts me to see you upset like this."

You try to calm your breathing, taking long and drawn out exhales as you manage to bring a stop to your tears. You pull away from him enough so your eyes can meet with his worry filled stare.

"I just don't want to be a burden, this is only our fourth date," You as it to him.

He clicks his tongue, raising a hand to softly cup your cheek. Leaning into the touch, you don't break away from his gaze as he speaks.

"I want you to be my girlfriend," He sounds sincere. "I was planning to ask you on your doorstep after I walked you home tonight but I'll ask now. Y/N, will you be mine?"

Your tears threaten to return, yet instead of being filled with sorrow, they are somewhat joyous as you nod your head firmly.

"Of course," You lean forwards to hold him close yet again. He chuckles lightly in relief, sending vibrations throughout your body.

"Well now you can't feel like a burden because you're my greatest asset," The simple remark is enough to put you at ease as you just tighten your arms around him.

Realising how late it had become, you pull away once more, smiling softly even though it pained you to remove yourself from his warm arms.

"I should go home before my roommate thinks you've murdered me," Your joke hits it's mark as Seonghwa laughs gently.

Yet neither of you move as you remain seated, eyes fixated on each other. You were more than accepting to his hand as it found it's familiar place on your cheek.

His eyes flickered to your lips before returning to your eyes. Something in them made you wonder whether he was asking for permission.

He slowly leans towards you, his hand keeping you steady as his face gets closer with yours. He pauses when he's close enough that you can feel his breath tickling your lips.

When you don't make a move to push him away, only opting to close your eyes, he finally closes the distance. His lips are soft against yours, even softer than what they looked.

The way he gently held one of your hands, his other caressing your face, all whilst his lips delicately danced with yours— caused for your stomach to fill with butterflies. But they were more than welcome as you found yourself wanting to sit on this bench and kiss your new boyfriend until the sun rose.

After a few moments, he breaks apart from you, still holding your gaze as his face hovers only a few centimetres from your own.

You visibly frown at his sudden departure from you. It doesn't hit you what this must seem like to him until he immediately lowers his hand and lets go of yours.

"I'm so sorry, was that too fast?" He apologises, absolute panic filling his eyes. "I'm so stupid, it won't happen again I promise."

"Hwa," You call his name firmly enough that he halts his panicked phrasing. You had always called him Seonghwa or Park— this nickname was new. He hoped he managed to subdue the blush which fought to spread across his features. "Do it again."
He raises a brow slightly, unsure as to what you mean by this. His query is almost instantly answered as you lean forwards and crash your lips together again.

His eyes remain open for a second out of pure shock before closing, his hands reaching out to find their new home on your waist.
