I stood there, staring across the building, my limbs frozen stiff at what I saw. A man, stood there, holding a big gun, and I mean a BIG gun, and he had it pointed right at me.
"Get on the ground!" He yelled in a deep voice flexing his finger on the trigger. "Now!" I lifted my hands into the air slowly dropping down to my knees, and then onto my stomach.
"I dont have anything valuable!" I cried out in an attempted to get him to let me go. He approached me, grabbing onto the back of my coat and dragged me to my feet, pushing me ahead of him, switching his hand with the point of the gun."Keep moving!" He practically screamed in my ear. he pushed me out the front door of the building, raising the gun to the back of my head. "I have a hostage!" The building was surrounded by the police all pointing their weapons at the man holding me at gun point.
"Drop your weapons now!" The man yelled, pushing the barrel of the gun into the back of my skull pushing me a few feet forward. "I will shoot her. Drop your weapons!"
I closed my eyes tears running down my face as I tried to control my emotions, you know, a gun held by a psychopath to my head, nothing to worry about.
"Kennex!" One of the police officers spoke lowly with a bit or warning edging their tone.
I glanced up momentarily before the man holding me hostage, jammed the gun into my back before wrapping an arm around my neck and pointing the gun about my hip, finger flexed over the trigger.
"Get back!"
One of the officers had stepped forward, gun held in one of his hands that were lifted, in a 'I'm no threat' kind of way.
"I said get back!" He screamed in my ear, breath fanning across my face, and let me tell you, this guy, desperately needed a mint.
"Just let the girl go." The officer slowly set the gun back into it's holster on his thigh, before pulling his hand back up into the air and taking another step forwards.
"Don't come any closer!" I could hear the panic in the man's voice, his hold on me tensed and my air supply was cut off, causing me to start panicking.
"Help-" I gasped, clawing at the man's arm.
I couldn't hear it, but the gun jolted against my side before I was released. At first, I watched the Officer's face morph into panic and anger, like one of those slow motion videos. Then I felt it. Pain, searing through my side and traveling through every part of my body.
Someone took hold of my hand and pressed it against my side, becoming immediately coated in thick warm blood. I slowly looked up to see the officer from before, leaning over me.
Confused, my eyes flickered to the blue sky, through the pain, I hadn't realized I collapsed onto the floor.
"Hey!"
All the sound came rushing into my ears police running, hollering at each other, a gunshot in the distance, and sirens, lots of sirens.
"Hey!" A hand lightly tapped my cheek, bringing my attention back towards the man leaning over me.
"Don't close your eyes." His voice was deep, and his eyes were deep, so much emotion, swirling around within his soul.
I must have looked a little crazy or something, but I smiled at him, and he laughed, it wasn't a full belt laugh, it was more like a soft breathy laugh, like he didn't believe something I had told him.
"An ambulance is on its way." This time when he spoke, my vision blurred and the volume of his voice lowered for only a moment.
"John..." Another officer came into my view, leaning over me. This man, looked strangely familiar, but I just couldn't pin point where I had seen him before.
More sirens echoed around me as some other people came into view, replacing the spots once occupied by the officers. I couldn't focus on the new faces, and closed my eyes as my body was lifted to who knows where.
