snakes and cemeteries

Waiting anxiously in the scorching out sun Blue, JJ and Pope sit in front of JJ's house. It's been hours since they left the Lighthouse and not a single word if Kiara and John B are safe.
"Fuck, what's taking them so long?" Blue groans wiping sweat off her forehead. "I don't know." Pope sighs. Blue and JJ start a game of tic-tac-toe on the dirt. "You're cheating!" Blue giggles nudging JJ after he's won for the third time. "Blue, it's tic-tac-toe how can i cheat?" He laughs and nudges her back, she groans in pain as JJ bumped her wound. "Shit, i'm sorry Blue, i forgot." He apologizes caressing and kisses her head.

The sound of tires on dirt and gravel approaches them, the three look over and see John B in his van. Pope cheers. "Lets ride!" JJ shouts hoping into the van after Blue. Pope gets the passenger seat, "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't think I could've taken another second of these two without vomiting." Pope exclaims looking at Blue and JJ then back to John B. John B chuckles and starts driving. They pull up to The Wreck which Kiara's parents own. Pope runs in to grab Kiara. "She's said she's not coming!" He shouts from the entry of the restaurant. JJ and Blue look at John B, "What did you do to her, man?" JJ questions. "Shit. hang on i'll deal with it." John B says getting out of the van and jogging into the restaurant. Blue turns to JJ, "what do you think he did?" She asks. "Probably tried macking on her when they were alone." JJ rolls his eyes then Pope chimes in "That or she finally realized he's losing his goddamn mind." "Both could be very true." Blue nods.

Kiara and John B both get in the front of the van. "Glad you decided to join our adventure." Blue teases, John B drives down a long road for awhile, it's begun to get dark. "Mind if I sit out on this one? It's been a long day, and a lot of weird stuff's gone down." JJ murmura taking a hit of his joint. "I'm just gonna lay low. Oh, did you want a hit of this?" He offers Pope, he'd never offer a hit to Blue after what happened the first time she got high, it was a mess. "I keep the signal clear." Pope denies his offer. Blue watches as the two boys quietly argue i've Pope's creativity. "Look I know i was wrong about the lighthouse and everything else, but I was right about one thing." John B starts, "okay? My dad is trying to tell me something." He finishes and to anyone else John B would sound like a crazy person, but Blue understands, she loved Big John as if he was her own father, taught her how to fish and navigate the endless sea. She misses him probably almost as much as John B does.

"Really, JB? A cemetery?" Blue shivers, JJ throws his arm around her. They walk in the dark with only flashlights and John B to guide them. "Redfield, it's not a place. It's a person." He says stopping at a large crypt that has 'Redfield' in large letters on it. "JB, you're on to something. I mean it doesn't make up for the fact that you dragged me to a cemetery." Blue jokes, JJ chuckles. "It was my great-great-grandmother, Olivia Redfield." The five stand staring at the crypt. Leave it to John B to get everyone to come to a cemetery and basically dig up a grave, Blue thinks to herself. "Come help me open it." John B tells Pope, knowing JJ is much to high to help. The two attempt to push open the cement door as the other three hold flashlights up. "This door is like 700 pounds. If not gonna budge." Pope groans pushing into the door again. JJ joins in and helps push. "We didn't come this far to get this far, alright?" JJ grunts using all his force to push. A snake hisses, it comes out of a crack right beside Pope. Blue jumps and shrieks, snakes and cemeteries at night her worst fears.
"That's a moccasin, all right." JJ states panting. He starts barking at the snake as it slithers away. "JJ, shut up. Shut up!" Blue shouts at him. Now john B isn't the only lunatic part of the gang. "They're afraid of dogs, everyone knows that." JJ shrugs. John B goes back to trying to open the crypt, JJ pulls him back and looks him in the eyes, "If there's one, there's probably dozens." and begins barking at the stone wall covered in vines. "Stop barking at the snakes." John B sighs tired of JJ's antics.

As the four argue about getting in the crypt, Blue observes the crack which the snack came out of. She follows it up to a larger opening. "Guys." She attempts to get their attention. "Guys! I can get through." She says again this time all eyes are on her. She points her flashlight up to the opening. "No you're not, Blue." JJ scowls at her. "Well it's either me or Kie, the opening is too small." Blue shrugs looking at the group. "It's fine, I'll go through." Kiara sighs. Blue and Pope hold the vines as JJ and John B boost Kiara up. "Tell me what i'm looking for." Kiara says. "You'll know it when you see it." John B answers lifting her into the crypt. "See anything?" Blue asks. "Oh my god."
"Guys she's probably being eaten by snakes as we speak." Blue says frantically pacing back and forth still shivering at the thought of there being snakes everywhere oh and spirits because they're in a cemetery. "Baby, calm down." JJ pleads, Blue glares at him, "JJ this is no time for your joking around." She snaps, the boys look at her with wide eyes, Blue has rarely snapped at anyone like that especially JJ which catches them by surprise. "Blue, everything will be okay." John B attempts to calm her this time as JJ is still in shock at her outburst towards him. "I'm freaking out, here guys! You all know I have herpetophobia and coimetrophobia." She pants clawing at her own arms. JJ and John B look at Pope for an explanation. "Fear of reptiles and cemeteries." Pope explains for the two boys. "Kie better hurry up, before Blue passes out." Pope points out. Kiara's hand pops out of the opening and hands John B a FedEx package. JJ hugs Blue tightly and rubs her bare arms. "Oh god, go, go go." JJ whisper shouts as he sees a carts lights get closer, he grabs Blue's hand as they run through the cemetery.

They run and hide behind the crypt and turn off the flashlights. Blue starts panting again, the new fear of being caught isn't helping her fear of being in a cemetery. "They got guns." JJ observes. Kiara gets up and is the first to run, the rest follow her. They get to the cemetery gate, JJ helps Blue get over and then jumps up. "Guys! I'm stuck." Pope shouts hanging from the top of the Gate. "Just get down." John B yells at him getting into the van. Kiara pulls him by his shirt and his shorts rip off as he falls to the ground. "Get in the car!" JJ yells at him as kiara closes the door. Everyone laughs as they drive off, everyone except Blue who is still calming down from her panic attack, she sits in the back of the van quietly as she rubs her own arms and catches her breath.

- My favourite character is by far JJ, Rudy Pankow is such an amazing actor and JJ is so sweet and deserves a better life than he has. It makes my heart break.
