FREDERICK CHASE

"Helen can you please cook something nice Annabeth and her friend from camp's coming today" I called to my wife Helen.

Suddenly Bobby and Matthew came running down the stairs. The last time Annabeth had visited they had gotten really close.

"We heard Annabeth, is she coming" asked Bobby.

" Yes she's staying with us for a week." I replied.

**Time lapse to 8 pm**

I ws just fixing up Bobby when I heard the doorbell ring. I went to open the door and asked Helen, Bobby and Matthew to watch from behind me.

When i opened the door what i saw made me want to cry.

A boy with black hair, mesmerizing green eyes and a perfect tan was holding a limp Annabeth in his arms. She was loosing a lot  of blood from her stomach and the boy had used his shirt to cover her wound but even that was a deep red.

The boy didn't look so good either. His muscled body was covered in bruises and scars. he was loosing alot of blood fast and had red in his  he was just able to say "monsters chasing us all dead" before collapsing.

"Oh my Gods" Helen cried.

Bobby and Matthew went up to there sister and started crying. I just stood there frozen in fear.

"Come on lets get them cleaned up"

I went to pick up the boy and I as surprised at how light he was.

Helen had gone for the First Aid Kit and that left Bobby and Matthew to carry their sister and even at 10 they were able to do it. It made me wonder if these children were eating enough

We made our way to the sitting room and put them down on the couches.

Helen came in and tried to clean up their wounds but in vain.

Bobby whispered something to Matthew and he nodded. Hten he said "mom, dad can you get a glass of water? Bobby you check Annie and I'll check Percy."

"Woah woah woah waht do you think you're doing?" I asked as Helen ran off to get the water. "And how do you know him?"

"We're saving lives and don't you remember him? He came when Annie got kidnapped." Bobby answered checking Annabeth's pockets and bag. Matthew was doing the same to Percy. Oh now I remember, I can't believe that this was the same boy.

At Percy's second pocket Matthew pulled out a ziplock bag full of what looked like lemon squares.

Then Helen came back in with water and Bobby pulled out a miniscule bottle from Annie's bag. He poureed it into the water and mixed it together.

"Can you sit them up?" he asked.

"Sure" Helen and i went over and sat the two up. Matthew went up and opened Annabeth's jaw and Bobby poured the liquid down her throat. The blood flow slowed down a little. "Not too much or else she'll burn." Matthew whisper/yelled to his twin."Now for Percy"

They moved onto the boy and then turned to us" Annie let us IM Percy when she last came and he's really cool.

"Hey guys" a fragile voice said behind them. We all turned to see Percy looking at the twins. Then he jumped up an dran up to Annabeth."Oh Gods this is bad. Mat give me the Ambrosia" he said holding out a hand.

Matthew handed the bag to Percy and he took out a lemon square. Percy poped one into Annabeth's mouth and her eyes fluttered open.

she looked around and when her eyes landed on Percy she exclaimed"Oh Percy." She wrapped her arms around his neck and sobbed into his chest.

"Shhh its' ok" he said running his hand through her blonde curls.

Annabeth pulled away and and saw her stepbrothers"hey guys" she said reaching out to hug them but winched.

"No if you guys want a hug come here" Percy said.

Bobby adn Matthew ran over without hesitation and embraced their sister with a hug.

She winched in pain again and Percy said " wise girl can't go much longer wtihout sleep so 'night guys" He turned to Annabeth and said " You direct and i carry."

She didn't look too happy but agreed and Percy picked her up bridal style.

"Thanks for my life guys and 'night" she called out after her.

"We should go too" Bobby said and they raced upstairs to their bedroom.

"Come on hun" I heard a voice Behind me say and Helen took my hand an dlead me upstairs.

In bed all I could think about was how little I knew anout my daughter's life
