Ezio's POV
I had to leave her behind. I'd dragged her too far in to my world and I didn't intend to bring her any deeper. I didn't want to lose her, not after losing everyone I held close. I must push her away to keep her safe. It's the only way.
These were my thoughts as I went to finally get revenge on the man who killed my family. I found my way to Rodrigo without being detected. I was above him, just about to perform an air assassination, when I saw Katarina. Standing behind him, looking at the ground.
I hesitated for a split second and then jumped. I stabbed Rodrigo, and got my revenge. Or so I thought. I turned to leave, when he used the Papal staff, his Piece of Eden. He tried to force me onto the ground with everyone else, but I resisted. I then brought out the Apple. Believing it was my only chance of survival. I duplicated myself and attacked. I was successful. I took the Papal staff and went to Katarina, who was also knocked down.
"Are you alright?" I asked
"I'm fine, go kill Rodrigo." She answered
"I'll be back." I saidKatarina's POV
Ezio got up and ran after Rodrigo who went for the vault. I got up slowly and made my way outside. I had to get some air. I found a near by bench and sat on it until I saw Mario (Ezio's uncle) go inside the Vatican. I got up and went after him. Ezio then emerged from the Vault and pulled me to the side, needing to talk to me.
"Katarina, I have to go and sort somethings out before I can be with you." He whispered
"I see, well you be careful then." I said
"You too."And with that he parted, I never knew I would not see him again and that he married another woman. I will never forget that man.
Rebecca's POV
Desmond exited the animus, after going through that extra memory we found. It was amazing, really, getting that extra detail into Ezio's life. Shaun looked enraptured too. Lucy was busy typing at her computer, the details we got. I could not help thinking, maybe that was what inspired Ezio to go. Well the only way to find out is going through the animus.
