the bitch lay annoyed, quietly panting as the pups nurse greedily. they are past weaning now and she is in season again. the stud dog is pacing just outside of the brood pen. panting, then whining, then panting. one white pup pulls free of its teet and trots playfully to the stud dog. the bitch bounds dragging, kicking, throwing the other pups away from her and leaps violently sinking her teeth into the trotting pup in jealous attack. she walks through the gate to the stud dog as the white pup lay soiled and limp in a puddle by the wire fence.
