"okay, i know you guys are being punished but if you never tell mom, then nothing will happen." lucas held both hyejoo and hyunjin's hands as they got off the bus to go eat somewhere.
"and to be fair, there's no food at home so i'm just doing my job and feeding you guys." he was saying all of this to reassure himself, not the girls. he was afraid of his sister's wrath.
"uncle, can we eat at that one pizza restaurant? the one with the play place?" hyejoo tugged at his sleeve.
"no baby, we're too far from it. plus you know the mascot scares me." he shivered at the thought of the giant rat in normal clothing. they walked the street altogether and tried to look for a place to eat. the three gathered stares due to lucas being on model mode. and the two little girls added cute points altogether.
"uncle those ladies are staring at us," hyunjin looked at the women passing by cautiously. "what if they want to kidnap us?"
"why do kidnappers always stare at us when we're with you or mommy?!" hyejoo realized.
"trust me, if anyone kidnapped you. they'd probably try to return you after a little while." he laughed. "now what do you guys feel like eating?"
"bread." hyunjin responded easily.
"something sweet?" hyejoo added.
"should we go visit uncle mark's bakery then? it's not too far from here." lucas suggested and the girls were immediately ecstatic.
"yeah! i like uncle mark!"
"mark is your only friend that smells good! like cupcakes and fruit!"
"huh? why are you guys so obsessed with smells? what about me how do i smell?" lucas asked the two.
"you smell like....those gross men products. mommy says it's..axe?"
"and sweat! you smell like sweat too."
lucas pretended to cry from hurt feelings as the two went away with describing his scent. hyejoo and hyunjin looked at each other, getting worried.
"it's okay, uncle." hyunjin stopped in her tracks to pat lucas in the back. hyejoo joined in and hugged his impossibly long legs.
"yeah, we got used to the sweat smell." was her attempt to make him feel better.
"it's fine girls, let's just go visit mark."

hoseok held yeojin's hand as they walked to a bakery not far from the apartment. both of them were quiet along the way, not knowing what to say at this point.
