The tribute parades begin and all of the tributes show off their style. The crowd screams and booms as the Capitol Anthem roars above them. The chariots lead to President Llama, standing on a ledge high off the ground.
Llama gives his normal speech and the tributes are pulled away. One event is crossed off the list. Now they must complete Training and the Interviews.
Violet's POV:
I walk into the training room and immediately see the careers.
Abdul's weapon of choice is a knife, particularly one he can throw. He violently whips his hand forward, sending the blade flying. He never misses a beat.
Training beside Abdul is his district partner, Salad. Salad seems to be good with multiple weapons. He brandishes a sword, but puts it down and grabs a spear. He grins at me as he holds his spear up, almost threateningly, as he then turns around and throws his spear and hit's his target right on the mark.
I walk to another corner of the room and see Brooke swinging a sword. She decapitates every target, never missing a swing. She's ruthless. She finishes her onslaught with an axe to the head of the mannequin.
Luvs is there as well, also working with knives. He's quick and agile. He runs, slicing open the stomachs and gutting his targets before spinning around and throwing knives into their heads. Luvs is definitely the most flexible and agile of the group, he's for sure a threat.
Draggini swings an axe around, then throws it right at her target. Krista is training with a bow and arrow nearby. She hits each of her targets square in the heart.
Despite not usually being a career district, the tributes from 5 --Tris and Kam-- seem to be some of the most powerful if not the most powerful of the group.
Tris has a wide range of weapons. She can shoot a bow and arrow but also swing a sword. She seems to prefer twin blades so she can have one in each hand. She's lethal with them, slitting the throats of the targets in the blink of an eye.
Kam throws axes for a heavy hit, and knives for a quick kill. Don't think you can win by getting up close though. With his scythe he can bring you to the ground in a second. I've never seen somebody use a scythe as a strong weapon in the games but... here he is. He's clearly very skilled with it.
After the intimidation of the careers, I leave. I'm too afraid to train around them...

The next night we all give our interviews. I have the best one of course, but then the next morning, is the day. Today we enter the arena. Today we begin the Hunger Games.
The peacekeepers lead Kam and I to our entry area. I hug Kam. "Find each other," I say.
He nods. "Stay alive."
The two seperate into their own rooms, empty except one tube leading to the ceiling but more importantly, the arena.
I don't waste any time stepping onto the pedestal. I turn as the tube closes around me.
I feel myself rising. The light temporarily blinds my eyes and they adjust to the light. I look around. Everything is so colorful. I find Kam on a pedestal across the arena. I need to get to him. The pedestals are all positioned on a rainbow glittery beach. There's brown liquid then? This liquid bubbles and fizzes. There are paths leading to the cornucopia, suggesting that the liquid may not be something you want to go through.
I see my other surroundings and it all makes sense. I'm in a candy arena.
