"It wasn't love or anything like that, you know? It's all just business. So I never cared about him being with others and he cares less about whom I've been with as well. It was a tacit agreement between us."
"..."
"My husband and his brother did what to you?!!"
"..."
"I will never forgive them. Adrian, I can't tolerate this. They're so horrible. I have to do something!"
"..."
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I'll go against them for you. Only for you."
"..."
"You love me? I love you too. At first sight. You're the most beautiful person I've ever met."
"..."
"Me? Beautiful? You think I'm beautiful? You're too modest, Adrian."
"..."
A chuckle rang in the air. She moves closer to him, hearing his words that others can't hear. she appears to be having a conversation by herself, speaking to the air.
"I'm tired of people calling me Lady Rebecca. Despite of me coming from a royal family, there's nothing to it other than the status. For you, Adrian, you can just call me Becca."
"..."
She chuckles again. No one knows who she was talking to. No one dared question her. Because...they can't see him. They can't feel him. They know nothing. They can't see the man with his flesh red and charred, engulfed in flames that won't burn anything around him but that of which will only burn himself.
"..."
"Death? Yes, they should die. I should kill them, no? For you, Adrian. I'm willing to do anything."
The man smiles at her and slowly, distortedly, unrealistically, walks back to the frame and enters the frame of the painting. It was the painting that had been presented at her birthday. The man in fire. She walks towards the painting. Though the man inside the painting no longer has any expression on his face nor does he has any movements, she knows that the man is alive. The most beautiful man she has ever met. So bright.... brightly burnt yellow, orange, red and black. She smiles and leans down to kiss the painting right on the lips of the burning man. She almost can see him smiling back at her.
Meanwhile, at the hotel, Adrian can feel that his painting has started to work on its' demonic possession of Lady Rebecca's mind. He feels satisfied. He won't let Devon stands in the way of his revenge. He'll just let things pick up from there. As they were about to leave the room, he heard thoughts outside the door and that made him stop dead in his track.
"What's wrong?" Devon asked.
Adrian looks at Devon warningly. "They're here," he stated. Devon can understand who he meant through the urgency of his eyes. "You go and hide," he instructed.
Devon only smiles uncaringly at him. "No," he refused.
Adrian was at first fumed with anger to the boy's stubbornness but quickly decided against it. "Good, then. Don't blame me if you die," he spat. Well, if Devon dies, that is actually good riddance for him.
Devon displays a little smirk on his face before he spoke... "Baby, if death is easy, I would've died a long time ago."
Adrian didn't have time to figure out what the meaning of the words spouted out of the boy's mouth since the door has made a beeping sound of a card being swiped outside the door and the two figures of Kevin and Victor enter the room. Three of their henchmen were with them. One went in with them while the other two stood to guard outside.
Upon them seeing Devon in the room, thoughts float fast past their minds. Between anger and suspicion, Adrian caught something confusing in their thoughts. It sends shivers down his spine.
The door is kicked shut in anger by Victor.
