The force from Tomo's push was too much. Mila landed on the ground; hitting her head on the asphalt. She went into a deep sleep...
The aroma of springtime filed the air. A yellow brick school sat in the middle of the city. The bell rang abruptly, signaling a rush of children toward the classroom door. The teacher waited at the door to make certain that all of the children had arrived safely.
Mila could make out a calendar on the classroom wall - dated five years ago.
All of the children took their seats - one seat remained.
"Has anyone seen seen Fiemie today?" The teacher asked, with a worried look on her face.
"She dropped this in the cafeteria." One girl explained.
She got up and handed the teacher a silver tag on a chain. The tag read on one side: 'F.C.O.'
The teacher smiled. "Thank you, Sally! This is her medical tag - I'll check the cafeteria - stay put children.
Mila became somewhat conscious. She could make out some people.
Tomo landed on the hood of the van. He rolled his body towards the driver's window. He reached in the window and punched the driver in the side of the neck - turning off the ignition. The van came to a halt. The crowd gasped. Kage crept up behind the doctor, and the knife-wielding thug.
The thug pulled the knife closer to the doctor's throat. "I warned you people! Now the good doctor dies!"
Just as he was about to slice the doctor's throat, he let out an antagonizing wail. The knife went flying to the ground. Tomo leaped off the hood of the van and began to chase the man with the cart.
Mila could feel herself drifting away again...
A police cruiser sped down the city streets. Two officer were seated upfront, with a gleeful hound in the back.
The radio crackled. The sound of a dispatcher's voice blasted from the dashboard. "Unit K-95 requested for assistance at H. Kinopps Elementary - a 12-19 in progress."
The driver starred at his partner, who grabbed the mic. "Roger K-95 - You want us to assist with a potential stabbing? You are aware that we're a canine unit, right?"
The voice on the other line answered. "It's a nine-year-old girl with diagnosed mental and behavioral conditions. She's got ahold of a knife in the cafeteria - she's been known to become violent. You're the closest unit to the school, and I thought your dog might help calm her down."
The officers paused for a moment, then answered the dispatcher. "We're on it!"
They flicked on the sirens and headed for the school.
"Now calm down, honey." The teacher coaxed.
She stood in the middle of the cafeteria, facing a young girl with a chef's knife in her hand.
The girl swung the knife through the air. "I'm gonna have a knife like this when I get older! My uncle's gonna teach me to fight" The girl jumped on top of one of the yellow lunch tables. She twirled round, and round, swinging the knife."
"Be careful Fiemie!" The teacher yelled.
The girl's twirling was interrupted by the clashing of the cafeteria doors.
"Freeze!" The two officers shouted.
The girl turned and stared at them. Suddenly, The officers' dog leaped out from behind them and charged the girl. The teacher ran behind the lunch counter in horror, as the growling dog flew past her.
