Anais had to put her hand out to stop herself from hitting the dashboard. Wide eyed, she tried to swallow down her nerves and sat still in the car seat. Oliver remained silent, hands by his side now. He just stared out of the windshield at the brick exterior of his house. Anais looked away to also looked at the house. The cursed house. She began to fiddle with her fingers, trying to focus on something other than the possibly fuming Oliver sitting next to her.
Oliver sighed loudly next to her, cause her nerves to spike. She moved her view from her hands to him. Quickly she looked over his profile, his eyes her closed and he was holding his nose with his fingers. Oliver opened his eyes and turned to look at her. Anais sat still, not moving a muscle. Too afraid to look away. He just stared back empty looking over her.
"Stop looking at me like that" He muttered before letting himself fall against the car door, fully twisted to stare her down.
"Like what" Anais managed to whisper back. Barely audible. Subconsciously she began to rub her bottom and top lip. Still she refused to look him in his eyes.
"Like I'm about to snap or something." Oliver reached up to push his hair back, wrinkling up his eyebrows. Anais didn't reply instead she turned away and scanned his driveway. No one was home. It was just her and him here. And being alone with him seemed like the worse idea right now.
"Take me home" Anais whispered not making eye contact.
"What did you say?" Oliver asked moving away from the door and slightly closer. His head was only a few inches away from her ear now.
"Take me home" She replied louder this time. Oliver sat there in silence once more, his warm breathe hitting her cheek.
"Why? Do you want to leave?" Anais only nodded. Oliver leaned fully over her to push open her door, Anais pushed herself far into the truck seats and sucked in a deep breathe so his arm wouldn't touch her. She only started breathing again when he leaned back.
"Alright then, leave" He said harshly staring deeply at the small girl in front of him. Anais moved her head to look outside. It was dark and mostly woods. If she walked back down the driveway, who knows how long it would take for some random to drive down the street. And when they did, would she really take a ride from someone she didn't know?
Or was this a trick. One of Oliver's games. If so how far would she get before he caught up to her. Anais's heart pounded hard, what choice did she really have.
Anais grabbed the door handle and closed it.
"Shame. I really wish you would have got out"
"Why?" Her voice less shaky than before.
"It would have made things a lot easier"
The loud sound of the car being locked echoed in her head, she still refused to look at him. Oliver took off his seatbelt and moved over to take of hers. Anais didn't make any moves to leave.
"Why do you always do this to me?" Oliver asked, "You stay you love me and then you go around putting these ideas in guys heads."
"What even is it about you?" He said, this time is voice getting louder. Oliver grabbed her face before she had time to react. Moving her head so he could look at her more closely. Anais kept her eyes closed and tried to pull her head back only causing him to grasp harder. He looked over every feature on her face with angry eyes. His fingers digging into her jaw.
"Are you going to say something?" he said, much quieter this time, but still full of emotion.
"The only reason he likes you is because you' act so innocent all the time, he just wants to take that away" At this point he was talking to himself. Anais was focused on trying to block him out and pretend she was somewhere else. Anywhere else.
"Bet you'd like that. Do you want him to take away your innocence" That snapped Anais out of her pretend world. She shook her head.
"What about me then" Anais opened up her eyes and stared deep into those dark brown eyes.
"I don't." She managed to mutter out from his strong grasp.
"Then why do you go around seducing guys" Anais pulled back again, this time Oliver allowed her to move away. Anais moved her hand up to rub the spot he had held so hardly. Wrapper her other arm around herself. Maybe she should have just ran.
"I know what you are" Oliver said getting up in her face again.
"You're a slut, Anais. A slut." She'd rather him hit her. His words always managed to cut deeper.
"I'm not that" She muttered out, not wanting to say that name. Oliver's fake laugh filled the car. She shook his head at her before slapping her across the face.
"Oh, but you are. That's exactly what you are." Anais narrowed her eyes at the boy in front of him cradling her now red cheek with her hand. He sat there, wide eyed and an insane look in his eyes. He reached over and grabbed her wrist. Pulling it away from her face. Anais let him.
"Say what you are" Oliver said in a mocking tone. Anais turned her head away from him, only to have him slap her again. This time it was harder, causing red hot tears to well up in her eyes. She closed her eyes hard to stop them from going down her face. She remained silent. Oliver looked her over for a reaction, upset he didn't get the one he wanted he reached over and hit her again. He watched how her head jerked whenever he did. It was almost calming to watch.
"Anais" Oliver scolded.
"I'm a slut" She said lightly, barely audible. A smile started to form on his face as he moved closer.
"What are you?"
"A slut" Anais said her voice still shaking and weak. Oliver reached out causing Anais to finch and watching him more cautiously. He put his hand on the back of her head and pushed her into her chest.
"You're lucky I love you" He muttered out as the small girl cried into his chest. Oliver hushed her sobs as he began to pet her head.
