Anais closed that front door of the house as quietly as she could. She made sure to step over the third step on the staircase as it was the loudest and she didn't want to have to explain why she was getting home at eleven forty-seven when she's suppose to get home at nine the lastest.

The the second Anais got into the sweet comfort of her own bedroom she pulled the sweater off of her body. The usually use materiel felt like in was suck onto her body like a leech from being damp. The sweaters creme was now barely visible under the thick layer of mud that covered her clothes and skin. Anais felt gross, not just gross from the mud, but because she went back to that cursed house.

Anais made her way out of the safety of her bedroom and into the bathroom on the other side of the hall. From her parents bedroom she could see the soft glow of light coming from under their door. She moved her vision from her parents room and back to the bathroom as she closed the door behind her. Anais's vision went blurry as she lifted her fingers up to the slightly wet undershirt and began to pull it over her head. Her fingers shook with fear as she moved the matyerile higher and higher till in was fully of her. She pushed the undershirt onto the ground and slowly looked up in the mirror.

This was always the worse part, seeing the outcome. Anais felt like a year had gone by as she made eye contact with herself in the mirror to afraid to look down. Her stomach hurt like she had been hid by and semi-truck so she could only imagine how bruised it was going to look. Anais didn't have to imagine for much longer as her eyes wondered down to her stomach.

It looked like she got hit by a semi-truck. Her sides her lined with the light colors of reds and purples from just a half hour ago. Along with the new bruises there were the old. Ones from weeks ago maybe even months. Anais always bruised easily, it's how Anais excused the marks that lined her body.

Anais's fingers shook as she lightly traced the tips of her fingers over the bruises. Her body acked with pain. Anais just wanted to crawl up on the floor and disappear into the tile floor of the upstairs bathroom. She yanked her hands away from her body and turned her attention to the shower.

Anais turned the water all the way to the right and fastly stripped out of the rest of her clothes. She slipped into the boiling hot water and before soon tears came rolling down her face. Her head felt tight and her eyes were about to explode from her head. Her eyes burned from her rubbing her eyes so hard.

Shakily She grabbed the bar of soap and began to scrub hard on her skin. Anais felt her skin rip and become raw under her vicious scrubbing. She felt hopeless as she watched her skin glow red under the burning water.
Anais fell down in a fit and threw the soap back down on the shelf. She put her head in her hands as she began to sob. Anais didn't know why she let Oliver win. She could just say no, leave him for good. But no matter how many times Anais gave herself that speech she knew she would be right back with him.
Anais covered her mouth with her hand as she tried not to scream out in pain. She always hated herself afterwards, tonight was just the worst of it. It anger Anais moved her head back and smashed it into the shower wall. More tears came from her eyes, only this time from the pain coming from the back if her head. She wished more then anything that she could just be numb. Numb was always the better of the two outcomes. She wouldn't feel all the emotions and have to think about all the events of the night.

A knock on the door cause Anais to freeze in panic. The sweet sound of her mothers voice was heard behind the door.
"Anais honey, Is that you?" Her mothers french accent always put a smile on her face. Not tonight, instead Anais frowned as she pushed her hand closer to her mouth trying to muffle her sobs. She tried to be quite as she reached up with her other hand to slowly turn of the showers now cold water.

Anais sat still on the shower floor as she waited for her mother to give up and leave her alone. She sighed as she watched the shadow from under the door disappear.
