What really is worry? Things that peck at our brains until we can't stand it anymore? Things that make our stomachs clench up in fear or other aspects of the word? Is worrying all the time healthy?
No. No it isn't healthy. Worrying all the time makes us lose our appetites and messes up our sleep schedules. Worrying all the time brings more fear than anything else. Worrying all the time continuously brings the thoughts back into our minds. Worrying all the time brings the fear into more of a spiral than a passing thought. Thought spirals are difficult for some of us to escape. Worrying will not help with your anxiety. But; we can't help but think it will. That worrying will bring us to a sudden realization that we shouldn't worry, when This, In fact, is not the case at all. Worrying is a way of "dealing with things" when in reality it's only making them worse. We worry because we care too much for others and we worry because we don't know how else to handle it. We don't know how to cope with things sometimes, and so we worry and worry until we make ourselves sick. We worry until we're lying awake in our beds thinking about why we're worrying. We don't know what's going to happen in the future and that scares us. We worry out of fear. We worry out of the fact that we just don't know what's going to happen next.
Sometimes, we don't know how to not worry. Sometimes we're so used to worrying that we don't know when we shouldn't. We don't know when we can trust something or someone. We don't know when we can let our guard down. Give it time. If they're a person or thing that's meant to be in your life, you'll feel ease when you're around them. You'll feel joy. Or you'll feel comfort. You'll worry and worry but they'll reassure you every time that you have nothing to worry about. That's when you know you can let your guard down. When they've stayed long enough to show you that you can. But even when you realize you can let your guard down and begin to let them in, it's going to take time. And you'll worry and worry that you're annoying them, or that it isn't the right thing. You'll worry that they're not going to like you if you let them in. That they'll get sick of you. You'll tell them time and time again that you're worried and aren't sure what to do. But they'll reassure you that you won't lose them, that they'll be there for you regardless of anything. It'll take time to let them in, to stop worrying. But it is possible to let somebody in without worrying that they'll leave or hurt you. Give it time. It's not impossible to have somebody who wants to stick around in your life.
That's what's on my mind at the moment, I might post another one later about something completely different, but we shall see.
