A/n: Happy birthday Haru ily <3 I've been waiting to post this so it lands on his birthday :) this oneshot is gender neutral so let us all simp together :)

"Haru look at the little ice cream stand! We should get some later," you pointed out.

He gave you a small smile and gently squeezed your hand, "We'll get it on the way back.

You and your boyfriend, Haru Kato, were currently at a carnival near your shared apartment. You managed to convince him to go with you since he was so caught up with work, even rejecting to eat and sleep for a while. You both worked for the same division and usually worked on the same cases but Haru always went above and beyond with his case reports. You thought it was cute how dedicated he was, one of the many reasons you love him, but there was a limit. Luckily, he agreed to go on this date with you after he saw how concerned you were for him. He also missed being with you without the stress of work but he didn't want to admit that.

"I bet you all these games are rigged," Haru sighed, noticing all the children desperately trying to win a prize.

"They're still fun though, and the prizes are worth it if you manage to get them," you let out a small laugh, "Like look at that bear over there, the giant one. That one's the same color as your hair, it kind of reminds me of you."

You turned to look towards Haru who had a faint blush on his face and gave a small smile. He quickly turned away and started dragging you over to the stall with the bear, the same determined glint in his eyes. You let out a large sigh, knowing where this was going.

"Haru," you tugged on his arm with your free hand, "I don't need the bear. I already have you, right?"

He stopped and looked at you for a second, planting a kiss to your forehead, "You don't need it, but I want to be able to give the bear to you. It could be an apology for spending so much time working."

You let out a chuckle and let him drag you to the stall, thinking he was only going to try a couple of times.

"Are you here to win a prize for your lover," the old man running the stall asked, "250 yen a ball. Knock the three blocks down with one ball and any prize is yours."

Haru quickly let go of your hand and grabbed his wallet, slamming a 1,000 yen note on the stall's counter, "4 balls please."

The man quickly complied and stepped back, giving Haru some room. Haru gave you a small smile before he picked up the first ball and threw it, only managing to knock one. The old man restacked the block as you let out a small laugh, causing Haru to send you a teasing glare. He quickly threw the second ball, this time completely missing.

"You're so good at this," you teased.

"Save the compliments for when you're holding the bear," his voice was playful, "okay babe?"

Your face flushed as he smirked at you, meekly nodding at him. Your heart started beating a little faster, thinking about how he's this determined to get you the bear. Despite how he acts, you knew Haru was romantic and probably thought he had to get you the bear, even though you were fine just spending time with him. You looked at him as he threw the third ball, managing to knock down two of the blocks. You heard his silent cheer for managing to knock down two, deciding to quickly throw the fourth ball, almost now waiting for the man to restack the blocks. Once again, he knocked down two blocks.

"4 more balls please," Haru slammed another thousand yen on the counter.

"Haru, we don't need the bear," you gently tugged his arm, "Let's look around the carnival, we haven't seen everything yet."

"I was close," Haru turned to look at you, "I'll get it this time."

With how hardheaded your boyfriend was, you just agreed with him and sat down on the counter, of course after asking the man if you could. Your eyes flicked to Haru again, seeing him throw the ball with all the force he could muster. His determination was cute but you hoped he knew when to give up.

"Haru," you pouted, "Can we go do something else now?"

Haru looked towards you and put money on the counter, "I'll get it soon, don't worry."

"You said that 5,000 yen ago Haru," you muttered, slightly annoyed.

You've been sitting at the same stall for 15 minutes now, desperately wanting to do something else. His determination was beyond being cute now, at this point being slightly annoying. You understood that he wanted to do this for you but you rather spend time with him walking around and enjoying different things, not sitting down and watching him try and win a rigged game. This was basically the same as sitting next to him and working in the apartment, defeating the purpose of you two going out. You let out a relieved sigh as Haru wasted all of the balls again, another chance for you to convince him to leave.

"Haru, we could've bought a bear for cheaper. We should go to the ice cream stand we saw earlier," you hopped off the counter.

"I'll get it soon Y/n," he said, not looking at you.

You let out a sigh and decided to go get ice cream alone, "I'm going to the ice cream stand. I'll bring back ice cream for you."

"Don't worry babe, I'll meet you there," Haru sent you a smile.

As annoyed as you were with him, you couldn't help the heat rushing to your cheeks.

"Thank you for waiting, I'm sorry about the line," the woman greeted you.

You shook your head and smiled at her, "It's no problem. I'm glad business is good for you."

"Well, now that you're here, what would you like?"

"One scoop of f/f and one scoop of coffee please," you quickly handed her the cash, "in separate cups if you have one."

The lady gave back your change and the two cups, both of your hands now occupied.

"Thank you," you called out to the lady as you sat at a nearby bench.

You hoped Haru would be here soon so the ice cream wouldn't melt on you, and so he stops spending so much money. Even though you and Haru believed in doing the right thing, you both didn't get paid as much as you would like. Haru was definitely spending too much money on a dumb bear from the carnival.

"I hope he gets here soon," you muttered, looking down at your now swinging feet.

You suddenly felt someone in front of you, quickly looking up.

"Here," you heard your boyfriend from behind the gigantic bear.

You instantly put the two cups down on the bench and got up to take the bear from his grasp, "You actually managed to get it?"

"It was no big deal," Haru stuffed his now free hands in his jacket's pockets.

You quickly got onto your tippy-toes and pressed a kiss against his cheek, giggling at his now slightly red face.

"Thank you Haru," you hugged him, the bear making the hug difficult.

"It was no problem," he ruffled your hair, "Let's eat the ice cream before it melts."
