I still couldn't figure out how to bridge the gap of knowledge about Ryan and so One day at lunch with everyone present. I decided to ask. But turns out I didn't have to.

"Mirai i'm not taking the bus today my big sister is picking me up" He said before opening his chip bag.

"Big sister" Me, Runa, and Harper questioned in unison

"You have an older sister" Runa Asked

Ryan nodded and continued eating.

" Yeah I have an older brother and two older sisters" he deadpanned now looking out the window at the now empty dove nest

"Lucky you have siblings, it's lonely being an only child" Harper sighed.

I was shook.

"You've never said you had siblings" I questioned

"You never asked" he said.

suddenly it hit me Im always telling him about my life and how my little brothers are so cute and how the twins were constantly hiding in small spaces in my room and taking my stuff. but I never did ask him about his life.

Runa and Harper tried to get more information out of him but it seemed that he wasn't willing to divulge anymore. He refused to talk about his mother and refused to go into detail about his father just that he lived with him and he was in construction. He said he only really got along with one of his sisters which was the one picking him up for dinner but that he doesn't really speak to his other sister and his brother treats him like he doesn't exist which he claimed didn't bother him.

" So I guess that rumor that you burned down your house and killed your family was really just a rumor" Harper said.

My jaw dropped.

"HARPER" I exclaimed

"Ohh i'm sorry...It's not like I ever b-b-b-elived it to begin with Ryan is way too nice to do anything like that!" she stuttered

The lunch table grew quiet and Harper started turning bright red, she looked like she was going to start crying .

"Please don't be mad Ryan" Harper cried

"Why would I be mad" Ryan said turning in his seat to face Harper he gently patted her back

"Its ok, honestly everyone says it i'm not surprised you heard about it and it's not like its a secret even the teachers talk about it" he smiled.

but a question burned inside my mind...

Why did people think he murdered his family?
