Mia sips her coffee and she looks at her mom every 5 seconds. Nora noticed this, and she knew that her daughter had something weighing on her, but she didn't say anything. Mia looks at her coffee and looks back at the girl. "M-Mom," Mia says.

"Yes?" She questions.

Mia opens her mouth, "I...I don't really know how to say this...but..." Mia sets her coffee down. She walks over to her mom. Nora notices her apprehensive movements. "Mia? What's going on?" Nora questions her.

"It's just...I've been thinking lately. That I want to change for the better...like REALLY  change." Mia says nodding her head.

Nora smiles, "I'm proud of you, Mia. That's really good." Nora says.

Mia inhales, "But...uh..." Mia gnaws on her lip. "For me to change I have to...visit my past..." Mia says quietly.

Nora pulls her brows together, not understanding. Mia looks from the ground to her mother's eyes. Nora burns her eyes into Mia's blue eyes and notices the hurt in them. Nora shakes her head as she notices what she was getting at.

"Mia...no," Nora says in a firm tone.

Mia inhales, "Mom, I have to...you know I do." She says with desperation.

"Why? You can get closure some other way--"

"No, this is...how I want to get closure." Mia snaps. "Don't you get it, mom..." Mia shakes her head. "I'm happy, but...I want him to know that I'm happy, that he's nothing to me." Mia says with anger.

Nora sees hatred in her daughter's eyes. She lifts her hand up and cups her daughter's cheek. "Sweetie...I wish I could take all this pain and hatred away from you." Nora says softly.

Mia licks her lips and averts eye contact. "Well...you can't," Mia whispers, pressing her lips together. "And you can't stop me from seeing John."

"What do you know about what happened to him?" Amara Josephine asks her daughter. Mia gnaws on her lip, she didn't know if she should walk in or if she should just...wait. But either way, it was going to be awkward. "What else are you not telling?"

Ani shakes her head, "N-Nothing, I just...It's just that Bryce promised me that he would keep it a secret, and...and Bryce wasn't a liar." Ani explains to her mom.

"But my daughter is." Amara Josephine states as she walks away. Mia inhales and walks into the kitchen. "Uh...Ani..." Mia says quietly. Ani looks at her, and her broken expression changes to a fake smile. "Heading out?" Ani grabs her bag and walks past her. Mia's mouth twitches, as much as she and Ani didn't get along. She knew what it was like to disappoint a mother.
