3rd Person POV

Cassius hadn't been able to do or say anything when pack security found him. He'd tried exerting his authority as an Alpha's son, tried pleading that he'd come to the pack to visit friends and he'd stumbled on the building with the boxes by accident, but his words fell on deaf ears. Six of them marched with him between them towards a patch of grass around which they all stopped.

Well at least he'd found out where they kept prisoners.

A burly blonde reached down to brush away some dirt and grass before his hand seized a handle. He lifted it off the ground. Under the metal slab was a set of stairs into darkness.

Cassius gulped in fear.

A man behind him shoved him forward and he slowly went down the steps, the others following him. The base of the steps wasn't as dark as he'd originally thought. His wolf vision picked up numerous passages leading from their location, branching out like catacombs.

A blindfold came over his eyes.

Without thinking, Cassius lashed out, raking his claws into flesh. He received a good punch to the nose and it broke. Cassius let out a cry but the men around him didn't seem to hear as they pushed him forward.

After what was approximately twenty minutes of marching, Cassius' blindfold came off and he was shoved into a cell. Thankfully there were no other inhabitants. All of the security personnel left without a word except one.

"We'll discuss your sentence for trespassing in the morning," he said gravely.

The man left, his footsteps echoing ominously through all the prison cells. Cassius knew better than to try using brute force to bend the cell bars, instead opting to sit down with his back against the wall. He'd come up with some reasonable excuse tomorrow and he could get out of here.

All he had to do was wait.

And in that time, he could ponder over what he'd seen inside those secret boxes. Vials, over a hundred in just that one box. What could they possibly be for?

Cassius didn't think he'd like the answer to that question when he found out.

Azriel and I stood, concealed around the clearing that held the packhouse. Desmond obviously couldn't come since the sun was up. He'd called me a hypocrite and numerous other insulting names when he realized we were leaving him behind.

I didn't have time to deal with him right now.

"That's where Desmond saw them take Cassius right," Azriel asked.

I nodded as he gestured to a large patch of grass that looked slightly lighter than the grass surrounding it. You wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it. Currently, no guards stood around it, most of them positioned around the packhouse while important pack members went about their business.

Despite the numerous distractions though, Azriel wouldn't be able to get down to the prison cells without a distraction. That would be me. For a distraction of this scale, I had to bring out the big guns, metaphorically speaking.

Hopefully I'd have enough rest to pull this off.

"First sign of trouble, get yourself out of here," Azriel said.

I gave him a small smile before bracing myself for the shift. Azriel watched with awe, which gave me no small amount of satisfaction as my body transformed. I winced at the pain but I didn't lose focus and the transformation held.
