The two days ride to Rivendell was tiring and without stopping both grew to be bored of the landscape, finally approaching the plains to the backroad to the Elven settlement, a band of approaching riders had taunted them to stop. They had looked at each other in confusion and halted their mounts to see the advancing group. Zaya had spotted them first, a pack of wargs with orc riders. They must've been a remaining scout from the war and were on their way back to wherever they had come from. Dol Guldor according to Gandalf.

"Ready your arrows Prince, we have company." She said, unsheathing her sword as he readied his bow.
"Steady..." she muttered before she stood atop the saddle of her horse in preparation. "Steady..." they were approaching fast, their mounts of oversized wolves were probing proficient.

"NOW!"

She screamed as they were just within reach and the arrow Legolas had kept steady was released into one of the orc riders. She had counted 9 altogether. She launched herself from her horse and impaled the front orc rider, along with the savage beast it rode. Legolas jumped down from his horses and fired arrow after arrow, killing each orc atop the wargs and Zaya finishing off said, creatures. The remaining enemies had begun to surround them and the two stood back to back with no fear. No move was made from either side before the horns of the Elves sounded throughout the land and it captured the attention of all. The wargs began to flee but were quickly slain by the elven riders.

Once they were, they took the same method and began surrounding the Woodland elf and witch. But they stopped and stood to attention.
"Well look who it is Elladan?" The young brown-haired prince spoke to his twin brother.
"Indeed, the witch queen herself brother..." the brothers dismounted in unison and walked to the now displeased witch.

Of course, they would be here.

"Elladan, Elrohir what a pleasure, it is to see you again?... No, I was wrong it's not." She said before walking from the circle with a hidden smirk. The two sons of Lord Elrond had always taken a liking to her in their younger Ellon years.

The mischievous devils used to spy on her when she bathed in the river under the moonlight. Somehow she had enjoyed the attention back then, and in spite of their vexatious ways, she had almost liked the pair. I suppose their young gazing eyes on her untouched body didn't faze her much as after all, they wouldn't dare ask such a high standing woman for her hand. Though that didn't stop them from spying on her when she changed clothes either.

"You've grown much... though I suppose you're still spying on women as they bathe?" The two elves chuckled and looked at each other sheathing their sword and walked towards her.
"I suppose I best thank you for the help, not that we needed it." She said and looked to Legolas who had relaxed his bow. The twins took her in their arms in a hug and she laughed at their extremely unelvish fashions. An elven greeting was after all a simple hand action, so such an intimate show of affection was rather unusual.

Legolas looked on in confusion at their relationship and became rather envious of their freedom to touch her. Legolas had always been rather shy when it came to physical affection, he supposed it came from his father being inclined to not give any to his son. The lacking of his mother left a space in his heart empty when it came to parental affection and that which he lacked he placed into practice to become the best warrior of the woodland realm.

"Ah, Legolas my friend," Elladan said and walked to him, motioning a sign of respect amongst elven royalty. Legolas returned it. "It has been too long." Elrohir smiled and motioned in the same way.
"Where are you headed?"
"Rivendell, I have to talk with your father." Zaya said and began to walk back to the horse while the elven princes followed her. Legolas felt overshadowed by the twins, who had obviously known the witch prior.

"We'll guide you there."

She mounted her horse and looked at Legolas, she thought back to a moment while they had fought. An orc had not been fully disposed of was about to stab a distracted Zaya through the stomach, even if the armour would prevent it, it would surely hurt. Legolas shot the creature through the eyes and continued his attack. Zaya hadn't had the chance to thank him for it.

"Thank you, Legolas, for what you did. I'm grateful." The prince chuckled a little and the sound warmed Zaya to the core and she couldn't help but smile a little.
"I doubt it would've hurt much anyway, being as you are." She smiled at him and couldn't help but marvel at the perfection of the specimen before her.

How could it have not have come to her attention sooner?

Truly, in all her years, she had never laid eyes upon such a marvel of a being. No elf, man, nor any of the like would have a chance to compare to the Ellon and my god was he as fine as spun silk she used to run through Brillbrandy Wood in.

"Come, we make for Rivendell."

This is the last chapter that will be up for a little because I am putting this book on hold just to focus on finishing another book of mine and I'm always starting books so I just need to focus my attention somewhere else for a while. Thank you.
