Fate was sitting in a room, opposite of her were two policemen. The girl was covered in bandages and bruises, her brown long hair was messy, and her green eyes showed worry and fear.
"Tell us what happened", said one of the officers. He was wearing his uniform and had black hair. He was tall and slim, the man looked as if he was made of bones and skin.
"Start with your name and age, then just tell us what happened", the other one continued. He was smaller, his hair was red with white streaks. The man was a bit heavier and seemed as if he was a father.
The girl took a deep breath, tears stinged her eyes as she started to talk:"My name is Fate Gardner and I'm sixteen years old.
My roommate Jaden and I were going for a walk, and we decided to go through the forest. My shoelace went undone and I stopped to tie it again. Jay didn't notice and I didn't want to call her back, I was just going to run back to her after I was done.
Then someone grabbed me from behind, one hand was on my throat and one covered my mouth. He pulled me in the bushes and then I blacked out."
Fate now was crying, but she knew this was necessary to catch the people who had done this to her, and who killed her classmate.
The skinny officer, Mister Brooks, asked:"You've been missing for almost a month, just like your classmate. Can you tell us what happened during that time?"
"I... They...", the girl stuttered, then she took a deep breath and continued:"I woke up in a cabin. The first thing I saw when I woke up were the boys eyes, he stood right in front of me. He made me drink some water, then tied me to a chair and left. A few hours later he came back with Ashly. She was knocked out, I saw blood running down her sleeve. He tied her to a chair too. I yelled at him to let us go. He just listened for a few moments and then slapped me.
He said that if I wasn't going to shut up, he'd have to gag me, and I didn't want that, so I tried to stay quiet. I can barely remember anything that happened anymore, it's all a big blur of him showing up, and then her showing up, and pain and screams and once in a while food."
The redhead, Fate couldn't remember his name, picked up a pencil and asked:"Can you tell me what they both looked like?"
As Fate nodded, he said:"Thank you. Let's start with the boy."
Fate nodded again and replied:"He was tall, about six feet. He had a pretty round and soft face and was trained. But he didn't have so many muscles, he was really thin and wiry. He also had completely white hair, that was probably long. But he had an undercut and always tied his hair back. Oh and his eyes were yellow and faded into blue."
The man was drawing along to her words. Then he said:"Ok that's good. Can you describe the girl, and then we'll get to the clothing."
The girl took a deep breath and continued:"They are probably twins. The girl looked just like him, the haircolor was the same, the eyes looked the same and the way her body was built was almost completely the same."
Fate watched the policemen exchanged a confused look, then Mister Brooks said:"Can you describe the type of clothing they wore?"
"Yes, they always wore pretty, light and formal clothes, with sometimes something black. He usually wore a button-up or a polo and dress pants. And she'd wear skirts and blouses or dresses", the girl said slowely.
"No dark clothing?", the redhead asked stunned," did they never get blood on themselves?"
Fate slowely shook her hurting head.
A few minutes later, Mister Brooks dropped her off at the flat she shared with Jaden. He also gave her his number, telling her to call him when she saw someone who looked like either of the people that had tortured her.
Jaden was already waiting in the door for her best friend. As soon as the two sat down in the living room, she asked:"How was it?"
"I told them the things I told you when you visited me in the hospital last week", Fate replied.
"I'll stay close to you until they get caught. I won't ever let that happen again, I promise", the other girl declared.
The two friends got ready for bed. They were sharing a room in the flat, which calmed Fate a lot. She wasn't going to be alone. Not even an hour later, both girls were asleep.
