Taime laughed as Ali set the leaves on fire. The people seemed to have just disappeared with that.
"What was that!", Brooks yelled. The man was shocked and confused.
"Ghosts!", Taime laughed.
"Don't be silly", Ali replied," Those were memories. There's no such thing as ghosts."
"You have a lot to explain", Brooks sighed.
"Why did you kill them?", Fate asked furiously.
Ali sighed and replied:"I just killed Ashly, Mister Thompson and Doctor Jasmin. The others died because they died."
"You'll die too if you don't stop being so cocky, 837", Fate hissed in reply.
Brooks went up to her. "You're under arrest for threatening lives and illegal experiments on the human body", he declared, as he grabbed Fate by the wrists and cuffed her.
As two other officers brought Fate back up and outside, Brooks assigned jobs to his team. Then he lead Alistor and Taime upstairs too.
Just half an hour later, they were back at the station, in the small breakroom Ali had been in a few hours earlier. On the way there, they stopped at a pizza place and Taime and Brooks both ordered something to eat. Ali refused to get anything, she argued for five minutes over how she didn't want and need food.
As the three people sat around a table, Ali broke the silence by saying:"I'm sorry you had to be there Taime. I could have gone alone."
"But I was there and that's cool too. You just owe me, like a ton of candy now", the boy tried to joke, as he ate his pizza.
"You'll have to explain a lot later", Brooks said carefully.
"Dude, I'm still the same person. There's no need to change your attitude now", Ali complained," I'd rather talk to a rude idiot than someone who thinks he has to treat me like a porcelain doll."
"I'm sorry for the way I've acted", the officer started to apologize, but Taime interrupted him.
"Let me guess, if you would have known you would have acted differently", the boy said. As the officer nodded, the teenager continued:"Guess we're always smarter afterwards."
"Well it doesn't change the fact that Alistor will get years in prison for homicide", the policeman thought aloud.
"Not if I disappear", Ali talked back.
"You've committed a crime. I don't care how long you live for, you too have to obey the law", Brooks complained angrily.
Alistor sighed and explained:"Would be a bit weird tho, if everyone around me would grow grey and old and I'd stay like this. Also, with my blood and the sleep and the food and the sunlight and I could name you about a hundred reasons why that would most definitely not be smart."
"Should have thought about that before you killed three people", the officer said coldly.
Ali sighed and lean back. "Can you at least spare me court?", she asked anxiously.
"Why?", the man asked back.
This time, Taime answered in her place:"Alistor won't be able to disappear and hide there. And she absolutely hates that."
Brooks looked at the girl sharply, as she nodded. "You don't have to go to court, if you're seen as to big of a threat. Then a family member or an officer can go in your place. I doubt that you'd want to bring your family into this, so either you go, Taime goes as you, or I go."
"I can't go as her, Fate would know. And I'm guessing she'll be there", Taime complained.
"But you can go as a witness", Brooks suggested.
"Yeah maybe", Tai mumbled.
"Don't tell me you didn't sleep again!", Ali groaned.
"I was worried, what am I supposed to do when no one shows, and you're locked up!", Taime growled back.
Brooks interrupted the conversation, by saying:"You keep talking about others. Is there more people like you?"
"Nope, just me and him, and him and me", Ali said quickly.
The officer looked at the teens in distrust for a bit, then he stood up. "You'll both sleep here, in different cells. With guards in front of them", he explained.
Taime wanted to complain, but Ali was faster and said:"I don't sleep."
"Well then play cards. You're staying here and you're doing so behind bars", the officer shot back.
Alistor rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Great that we could agree on that, because it's late already. So come on, we're gonna get you two dressed for the night", the man explained as he stood up.
Taime seemed to be really tired, he stood up too and so Ali followed his lead. As the boy reached for her hand, she flinched and bit together her teeth. But she let him hold it, which Brooks thought to be impressing.
Just a bit later, Taime and Ali changed into the blue clothes Brooks handed them. The man had asked about a hundred times if it was ok for them to change in the same room, but as Taime told him that he was asexual, the man seemed to be a bit calmer.
As they were done changing and walked back out again, Taime on socks and Ali barefoot, there were two other officers alongside Jamie. One was just a bit smaller than the teens and Brooks, he had blonde hair and green eyes. The other one Ali already knew, it was Lisa Jaly.
Alistor didn't greet either of them, but Taime mumbled a small:"Good Night."
The white haired girl had to laugh at that, saying:"Tai, you look like you're gonna fall asleep standing!"
"I might", the boy mumbled mockingly," and then you'll get to carry me."
As he said so, Ali quickly took a step away, replying:"Forget it, just get a boyfriend already!"
Brooks took the boy by the hand, pulling him along carefully. Ali and the two other cops followed close behind.
The teens got cells opposite each other, Ali already knew the layout. Lisa stood in front of Alistor's door, and the blonde guy was in front of Taime's, who fell asleep the second he layed down.
"I heard you don't sleep?", Lisa asked after a few minutes, she tried to talk as quietly as possible.
Ali stood up from the bed again and sat down on the floor right in front of the door, so that she was facing Lisa through the bars. The woman followed her example and sat down too.
"I don't need to", Ali whispered back.
